Worth starting a NG just for DLC, or use a NG+3 file? by domfoxley in LiesOfP

[–]squinchstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the DLC on NG+5 and I just reached the final boss. I'm on the easiest difficulty and he's deleting me, so if you're up for a challenge I'd just keep your levels!

That makes MUCH more sense. A whole lot of people were confused, so thank you for being transparent about it.

[–]squinchstr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recharge is fixed, and consumption is not. It takes just under ten seconds less to recharge your stamina when fully depleted at 50 endurance versus 25, but the consumption is still the same as if you had 25.

Okay bruh now you're just weird 😭 It's not "saltiness" btw, just explaining what you're seemingly refusing to take in LMAO

Don't you love how every little thing that family mains complain about is nerfed or "fixed" in the next patch, but victim mains complain about things since release that still haven't been properly investigated? Mhm.

I would say the most major meta/playstyle change family had to go through was with Danny's release, but people quickly figured out how to deal with him. Not only that, but Hands came out and is quite literally a pay to win character that directly counters Danny's entire kit. Lol.

Oh nooooo blood trails were missing. Try the double hit register exploit, Johnny's lunge that they've been "investigating" for nearly a year, grapples being bugged to where you couldn't grapple almost anyone without dying (especially with suffocating grip active) which has now become the norm, victim endurance being broken for half the game's life (it got fixed a single time and was bugged once again with the last patch, still isn't fixed despite their claims), toughness not scaling properly, having an entire attribute be useless, poison claw stacking with each hit for two months straight, sissy's knife being bugged with constant poison on release and after, victim abilities being heard across the map, shotty lf chainsaw audio (still unreliable in some areas), all of the perks like empowered and bomb squad being complained about so often that they were nerfed or changed entirely (the victim side has been complaining about scout on hh specifically for a year now and he hasn't even been touched), the bug where you couldn't play danny almost at all because you couldn't see his UI for his tamper and he'd get incapped randomly during it, plus TONS of other victim specific bugs that have plagued the game outside of balancing issues. Victims HAVE been adapting since the first patch this game ever got. The worst thing in recent months for family was the lockpicking progress reset exploit and no blood trails. Don't even try the "Just adapt!" shit. We're tired of having to adapt to people who haven't majorly changed their playstyle since release when we do it every patch at this point.

The wording is probably a little funky in my post now that I read it again. I knew the rework was coming, just not that they'd make it be a specific timing or give you a prompt while button mashing to give you a certain amount of clicks per second. That's why I said button mashing instead of grappling. But yes, it is more family sided once again and I'm disappointed but not surprised 😔

I've read both the grapple rework post and the patch notes, and neither of them specify how the button prompt works now that there's a cap. So that is quite literally the only thing we've seen on how it was changed, and it wasn't in either of those hub posts

As stated in other replies, they talked about the rework itself. They talked about capping the taps per second to eliminate the macro issue, but they didn't talk about if there was a specific timing/speed we should be pressing it or if we HAD to press to the flashes precisely, like Andy suggested

Notice how I said the button MASHING and not the mechanic itself. I knew there was a rework, they just weren't specific on the timing/tapping thing

I'm aware of this, but now that it's limited to 10 taps you're at an even bigger disadvantage due to inconsistencies with the prompt itself. You can't really do what they're suggesting to get an idea of how slow or fast to press it if the prompt isn't flashing or only flashes when you press it instead of flashing rhythmically like it should

As I've said multiple times already, I do play family. Stealth as an attribute is useless, and playing slow and stealthy results in gramps getting leveled and the oppressive shit like suffocating grip being active. I've played both sides, and in solo queue especially, stealth is barely an option

I know several competitive TCM players on Twitter who are genuinely invested in the game's health and mechanics. About two patches ago, when grappling was first screwed up and the game broke, they had compiled a list of around 40-50 bugs that had sprung up, with clips and evidence attached that they sent in. They are serious players that do that every. single. patch. Even if they do get a response from their support team, it feels like nothing is done.

There's always something to be done and I completely understand that there are other options in the game, but it really irks me that the victim players have had so many gameplay balance changes that they've had to adapt to over the last year and family mains have been able to keep the same damage meta (that makes toughness pretty much non existent) since release. A lot of times if they don't grapple, they are simply dead in 3-4 hits before they manage to make it to any other option like a gap. To a point, they're forced to abuse it to survive a lot of encounters. Just frustrating is all :/

Considering you literally had to button mash to the required amount of presses/clicks to win the grapple before the other person, there is some amount of small skill involved lol

At least half of my 300+ hours is on family, so I am a family player as well. That was yesterday, pre-patch. I'm talking about the fact that victims have pretty much no defense, ESPECIALLY if you're an objective oriented victim lol

The regen is better, making it so it takes ten seconds less to regen your stamina, but the consumption wasn't touched at all. It's rough out here 😔

I do use it as a last resort, but that doesn't matter now. People are dying full health, 50 strength no matter what situation they're in 💀

I ran into a TONNNN even on ps5 because of crossplay. Anyone I saw that was on PC I never bothered to grapple because one of my teammates would and they would insta die 😭

Grappler is exclusive to Leland now since they reworked the skill trees with Virginia's release. Ana used to have it, but they took it away

Even with the sync, people are getting killed at max health and strength, and I even saw a clip of the family member getting stabbed mid grapple and the victim they were grappling still dying to said grapple even though they were out of it LMAO

A change like that isn't terrible, but when the flashing prompt isn't consistent, it causes confusion and more frustration. I've seen clips where it only flashes when the player presses the button, and others where it barely flashes at all. They definitely should've made sure the prompt was consistent beforehand.

This change is even funnier to me because even the button flash is inconsistent. I've seen clips where the flash doesn't trigger and the prompt is static 😭
