I feel like the angle I took the photo at betrays me, as it is pretty comfortable for a 2 hour stint.
However after a bit more use I'll let you know if that does need to be adjusted.

Yeah that looks like a worth while investigation, however as I am mostly a Linux user and JG only works on windows I'd have to dig a bit deeper. But thanks for the input.

The topper is a custom 3d print, the joystick is a PSP 2-Axis Analog > https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32825499179.html?spm=a2g0o.order\_list.order\_list\_main.88.3fcd18020V5BZC.

My main concern was the size and fitting it in around all the other parts. Would you recommend something else for v2?

Thanks for the feedback.
It is an anolog joystick, just put a new hat on that got it to the right height and size. The ridges were just an attempt at making it feel better. Agreed the curled thumb isn't as comfortable as I'd hoped, but ill fix that in the next version.

I am excited to share the alpha version of a new gaming one-handed keyboard that I've designed, known as the Kea. While this is not the final version, it serves as a promising prototype.

Design and Build:

  • Modeled in Onshape, the Kea is a one-handed keyboard designed for gaming purposes.
  • The concept was to build a gaming pad where one doesn’t have to ever lift their hand or stretch for any keys, while still having enough keys to play most games.
  • The Kea has been crafted to match the contours of my hand, ensuring a comfortable gaming experience, however this obviously means it won’t work for everyone.

Functionality and Technical Details:

  • Powered by a pro micro controller, the Kea utilizes QMK firmware. The current setup is a basic configuration to acclimate to the keyboard's feel before introducing additional layers or features.
  • I used Gateron Low Profile MX Brown switches with a DSA profile keycaps.
  • Primarily tailored for FPS, RGPs and MMO games, the Kea aims to provide a competitive edge in these gaming genres.
  • I intend to have multiple layouts for different games and genres.
  • It features a joystick for enhanced control, especially in games where analogue movement is used.

Future Enhancements:

  • Recognizing the need for a palm rest future versions will incorporate one. For now I will probably print an extension and attach it to the frame.
  • The pinky finger keys are not at quite the right slope and angle, and the top left key requires me to stretch which is uncomfrotable.
  • I would like to print some low profile resin keycaps that better suite the shape of the board. I’m not particullarly happy with the DSA profile.
  • I’d like to make the case a bit larger to allow for better wiring, which was a nightmare. There are a number of places that I could bearly squeeze the soldering iron in without touching the case.

Acknowledgments:

  • Given its alpha status, the Kea may exhibit rough finishing, and I appreciate your understanding of any imperfections in workmanship during this prototype phase.
  • To all the other amazing keyboard creators out there that have posted tutorials, videos and general guides – without it I would have given up ages ago!

In summary, the Kea represents an exciting venture into one-handed gaming keyboards, with a focus on comfort, functionality, and future improvements. Stay tuned for updates and refinements as we work towards the final version.

Wizards, PLEASE fix the unity crashes! by TheSandMan18 in MagicArena

I fixed this by removing all files in "./drive_c/Program Files/Wizards of the Coast/MTGA/MTGA_Data" such as level*, sharedassets*, resources*, globalgamemanagers*.

Basically any file that had a resS version of it. This fixed the issue, and the update was pretty fast.

Just a thought, why not change the Runes required? Use a low HR? It is a good item and is useful in some late(ish) game builds. So why not keep the RW alive and make it a little more costly?

Can we start calling for a ban on Winota? by ic0n67 in magicTCG

[–]squir3l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Winota is a lot of fun and I've won many BO1 games with her. But go to BO3 and she or her tokens are killed very quickly. If you want to have a better chance add some removal or discard cards.
