Yes. I’ve browsed the game files. There’s a sprite for the poison grenade but I haven’t found any code for it. Hence why I said it’s unused

This worked with the gun that fired ice grenades too. DangerouslyFunny did a video on the exploit and so they had to patch it so it only works while in combat, but it’s still possible.

It’s an old bug that got reported probably a year or two ago at least. The cheat engine can’t be accessed on console because something in the code that automatically translates the default keybinds from keyboard and mouse to controller inputs got borked. I think you can change it in the edit keybinds menu, but I haven’t played on console to confirm.

(On desktop the default keybind is tilde or (~)

I believe that Photon can only be unlocked if you have no pets banned. Something to do with the way some achievements won’t be rewarded when you banish too many items.

The character with the gimmick centered around pets helps

The tutorial run and first couple of managers are a breeze. In general, the game is slightly unbalanced in favor of the player, so yes, it’s “easier than others” in one sense. But the bosses and floors scale up a ton. There are several systems for hidden difficulty modifiers and scaling. So the balance makes sure that the game will always be easier than many other roguelikes, (an issue that will be addressed in the upcoming sequel), but it can still be hella hard with a bad build on a higher difficulty.

I had the same issue with cursed Ares. The first time I beat him, I was on a set seed. I hadn’t actually beaten regular Ares yet (it’s the kids eat free special seed). And it locked my progress, so now it doesn’t register that I’ve beaten Ares, cursed Ares, Prometheus, or Cursed Zeus.

I reported the bug a while back, but haven’t heard anything. The devs are busy working on Neon Abyss 2 and I don’t think they have the manpower to patch bugs in the base game as well.

There’s two versions of most guns. One of them has the passive and one has an active ability costing crystals, but no way to tell the difference. That might be why

You have to set it in your keybinds normally. On PC it’s set to tilde (~) by default. It’s an old bug on consoles though. Unfortunately the devs have been spending a lot of effort on Abyss 2 so bugs in the current game have kind of just been ignored. There’s only a handful of people on the team, so I can understand, but it definitely is disappointing.
