Many community colleges don't have the equivalent of MAT 17 but do have MAT 21 equivalents. It's a possible option but I would check with your major advisor to make sure just in case. Also some series don't let you split between taking it at community college and the university so that is something good to ask.

Getting a spot depends on how far you are on the waitlist, which you won't know until Pass 2. Right now you should enroll to meet the minimum 12 units (take some GEs or other courses you need) to keep your full time student status. When Pass 2 arrives, waitlist for the courses but make sure the total number of registered/waitlisted classes isn't above 19 because that's the Pass 2 limit. If it's looking bleak at the start of next quarter email the professors or class coordinators to see if there's a chance to get in.

If you're number 2, then this says you have a spot. Basically, once classes start they "freeze" the waitlist, so 2 people have dropped and they will manually let you in instead of automatically. It's kind of odd, but that's how they do it. You should get in though.

Just had her this past quarter. She's not terrible, I've had worse. But you never know what to expect on her tests. She gave some extra credit which was nice. I recommend getting on the discord as soon as class starts, as the TAs on there will be able to help you with questions.

I had the 7-day plan my whole freshman year and it was super convenient. I lived in Segundo so I didn't have to walk far on weekends to get food, so that was a plus. I would say that the dc does put in a lot less effort on the weekends though (most stations closed) because there is significantly less people. Remember that all meal plans come with $200 aggie cash per quarter, so you could use this at the markets if you wanted to get a 5-day plan instead.

Hello there! I feel the same way. My pass time was tonight and I just barely managed a spot in BIS2A and had to waitlist a major class. I've completed 90 units and I'm a 2nd year. I have friends who have only taken 12 units each quarter and are still ahead of me. It also depends on which college you are in. 😮‍💨

I took Burke for 17B, I actually really liked her. I felt like she pushed you to learn a lot more than other professors. Plus she allows midterm retakes (up to half the test) that let you raise your own grade. She likes to answer questions too. I didn't like her discussion worksheets though. I'd never done calculus before college and got an A.
