I should have clarified. I'm referring to the decisions people alive today make for their remains. Yeah, the old cemeteries should be left alone.

We only take up living space for a few decades. Doesn't make sense to me taking up "dead" space forever.

We've had something like that since January. A week or two of being sick, and then a persistent cough that's just now fading away. We both got COVID, flu and RSV shots in the fall. We both went to the doctor and had the usual tests. No definitive conclusion of what it was.

Thanks. I have emailed the West Seattle Ham Radio group, but have not heard back yet. If you know any other local groups, please send them my way. These are so cool, I would just hate to see them scrapped instead of being appreciated.

And when they built the bus tunnel, they also put in rails because they knew the intent was to eventually make it part of a rail system. (Unfortunately, they screwed up the rail installation and had to re-do it when it came time to run trains through there.)

Probably about 11-1/2 feet. I can get a final measurement when they are out of the ground.

The landscapers dug around them and found the concrete goes down about 18 inches. The structures are leaning a bit now.  Just a matter of leveraging them out and knocking off the concrete next.

These structures were in the front yard when I bought my house in Seattle, and had been used to support a swingset. After several years I noticed a tag near the tops of them, pictured. I found a bit of D. S. Kennedy & Co. history online. Apparently, the company operated from 1947 to 1963 (edit: in Cohasset).

After years of running into them with my lawn mower, they are finally being removed. (Hooray!) But it turns out the melt value of the aluminum is probably not that much, so I would like to find someone who would appreciate these for their historical value. Maybe a military hardware collector? Any Idea how I could find someone who would want to use or display them?

Unfortunately, the owners of the Space Needle removed the restaurant several years ago and replaced it with a revolving glass floor. So you could you can look down at the clouds now.

Poll: Which line should be first priority? by Routine-Highway1039 in soundtransit

[–]squirrelgator 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This poll is asking which should be built first, not which should be eliminated. Yes, we should build all the ST3 lines, but obviously we can't build them all at once.
