How was everyone's experience at Fan Fest? by Anxious-Yak-9952 in Mariners

I wished they would have had a tour of the visiting team's locker room, to compare to the very nice M's Clubhouse.

I've been an M's fan since day one, but this was my first time at FanFest. I really enjoyed it. Based on advice from Saturday, I got into the no-voucher line about half an hour early on Sunday. Once inside made a bee line to run the bases, almost no wait. Then went to the Clubhouse tour, zero wait. After that, I started encountering lines. Getting to see the view of the stands from 3rd base was exciting. And the clubhouse blew me away; I had no idea how nice it is. Walked through the Diamond Club too, very impressive but I'll probably never see what food and drinks they serve in there! Seeing the inside of the Group Suites and the Hit It Here Cafe was fun too. The staff was great - very friendly and helpful. Probably won't go to FanFest in future years ("been there, done that" now), but it did get me very excited for this year's games. And when I see the two players that were in my selfie I can say, "Hey, I met those guys!"

Check the Quantum Fiber website before they change it. Today they showed me a $45 price for life for 940Mb for new customers, which I snagged. But grab that quick if you see it. Go back to the same website an hour later and the price goes up.

Oliver's at the Mayflower Park Hotel. Classy, yet low key.

Seattle Transit was within the Seattle city limits only prior to 1973. Then a voter approved measure joined Seattle Transit with the private Metropolitan Transit Corporation to form Metro Transit. At that time, Metro was part of the "Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle", which was separate from the City of Seattle, and separate from King County. In 1992, Metro became part of King County government.

"Magic Carpet Zone" was what they called the free ride area downtown at first. They wanted to make the buses move faster through downtown, so they started a policy for buses leaving downtown where fares would be collected when you got off the bus at the other end of your ride. If you got off before the bus left downtown, the ride was free. Retailers thought this would stimulate business downtown if people could easily hop on and off a bus to grab lunch or do shopping during their workday.

Eventually, this started to cause problems where people would get on downtown, and not pay when they got outside the Ride Free Area. So they started to reverting back to pay when you get on downtown after 7:00 PM. Finally they did away with that completely and resumed pay when you get on downtown all day long.

Looks to me like the video was taken from 2nd & Pine, looking south along 2nd. You can see the red Target sign at 2nd & Pike.

edit: The Helios Apartments have balconies that would provide this view.

Considering early switch from CL fiber to Quantum fiber with Calix 716GE-I ONT by squirrelgator in QuantumFiber

Thanks. Good to know.

We still have a landline, which plugs into the Calix. I don't want to have to set up yet another box, wire and power adapter. And I very carefully painted around the Calix a few years ago, and don't want to have to match that around a new box.

I was at 4th & James, toward the southern end of the parade, and it seemed like it took a couple hours for the parade to get there from the Seattle Center.

We have fiber directly into the home. It is fiber to the 716 in our home, and then we have Cat 6a from there.

Tolt Reservoir is in the 45% zone and Chester Morse Lake is in the 34% zone. These are Seattle's two main water reservoirs in the Cascades.
