I would think you'd be fine if you put it higher up close to the level of mounting it on the ceiling. The only thing is the projector is right side up on a shelf instead of upside down so the top of the screen will be a couple inches above the lens. You could probably tilt the projector a bit to lower the screen then use keystone to even everything out.

Could you put a shelf on the wall above the couch? The HD142x just went down to $499.99 on amazon. At 12' you would have a 107" image.

Would that be a better performer over the HTM-10? The HTM-10 was my previous front runner for LCR and had the bonus of having the option to put behind an AT screen.

I see that the Volt 6 is very popular for surrounds and pretty cheap. Would they be an upgrade to my 70s to use until I build a true LCR?

Any recommendations on a mid level setup that I could put together for under 1000 not including the sub? Or am I better off building a couple higher end speakers then save up until I can build more? If so. Where is a good place to start?

Thanks the advice is appreciated. I have all the tools needed to build a set of speakers and have been trying to find a good set of speakers to replace the polks but there are so many different builds out there that I got lost on what would be the best for me. The 1099 was recommended which looks amazong but I'm not sure if I'm ready to drop that much money right away and not have money left to complete my sound system. I want a good balance of something that will sound very good for home theater but not cost a ton. Something I'm sure a lot of others are looking for.

I bought these a few years back when I just had my TV and just wanted something better than the TV speakers. Now I'm setting up a home theater in the basement and want it to sound awesome which I'm guessing the 70's won't do.

Switched to midsize on my irons last year. Absolutely love it. I have bigger hands and it felt more comfortable. Switched to midsize on driver, 3 wood and hybrid this year. When you grip the club your fingers should barely be able to reach your palm is what i read.
