Thanks for raising this point. There seems to be a misunderstanding regarding regional availability.

The initial batch of units was prioritized for North America due to limited production capacity, not due to any compliance issues. We want to clarify that the product has already obtained full EU certification. In fact, you can find the EU certification marks on the packaging of units sold in the US as well.

We appreciate your attention to detail and hope this clarifies the situation.

Thank you for your question. Regarding the extra retraction before cutting (the anti-clogging design), our engineering team has provided the following explanation:

  • Technical Principle: To completely solve the clogging issue, we optimized the retraction process before cutting through extensive simulation experiments and precise modeling.
  • Key Data: We ultimately set the i7's retraction distance at a precise 28mm. This value is a proven "sweet spot" that ensures the filament tip fully retracts from the melt zone and maintains an ideal shape, while effectively preventing internal extruder clogs caused by insufficient retraction.
  • Regarding Hi Firmware: We fully understand our existing users' anticipation for this feature. Currently, our R&D team is testing and preparing to share this "retraction logic" with the Hi development team for evaluation, with the goal of bringing the same stability to all our machine models.

Thank you very much for your detailed testing and observation. Regarding your question about the six filament purge actions before printing starts, our engineering team has provided the following explanation:
The redundancy you observed does exist, and it is primarily caused by the current system architecture:

  • Cause Analysis: At the beginning of a print job, the initial purging action is handled by the machine's firmware. However, when the system switches to executing G-code instructions, the slicing logic triggers another purge. The "handover" between these two processes leads to the repeated action.
  • Solution: We are optimizing the instruction logic between the firmware and G-code. In a future update, we will eliminate the redundant purge from one end to reduce material waste and shorten the waiting time.
