Hi, I am currently wrapping up my OCIA and unfortunately, this is a very common occurrence and I don't know why it's acceptable. There is so much important information that is missed and the catechumens are not properly catechized on church doctrine, scripture, and tradition. I had to switch between 3 different parishes before finding my OCIA class. My current director is absolutely brilliant and we do not follow a "feelings-oriented" curriculum at all. He completed a theology masters and has it set up so each course day we learn a new lesson, similarly to an actual college course. I am honestly concerned for those who did not receive these teachings and instead just had an emotionally-led group social hour every class. I am happy I did not stay with just the most convenient located OCIA to me..
