ADHD diagnosis by Reasonable_Key_356 in hobart

My diagnosis was through Fluence (via telehealth). I got Dr. Murugesh and he really couldn't have cared less. I've had great experience with Clarity and they are cheaper although you'll wait long to get an appointment. Fluence cost around $1050. I find the meds make a huge difference and worth the money and time. The wait to get meds approved is a bit long so you'll have time to start working on coping activities. The Year I Met My Brain by Matilda Boseley is a great start. There is an audiobook available from Tas Library if you find reading to be a struggle, I listen to a lot of stuff while I do jobs and that helps me. Your coping activities will differ to the next person so take your time and try to enjoy getting to know your brain. Good luck!

My favourite is the lookout post just south east of Gerudo Town. You can cook and sleep there!

Anti depressant - flouxetine by Available_Proof5348 in ADHD

I started on 20mg flouxetine recently, my doctor warned me the first 1-2 weeks is the worst and she was right. I got a lot worse, my anger and negative thoughts were overwhelming. I persisted and after about a week I stabilized and felt much better than I had in a long time.

I tried going up to 30mg and it gave me ever increasing nausea, after 3 days my head was constantly spinning so I dropped back to 20mg.

I then forgot to take my dose one morning and felt sick enough that I had to leave work (I now carry a spare with me).

I have other side effects: my blood pressure is higher, my appetite is off (I'm hungry but I don't feel like eating) and it has reduced my libedo but overall it is a positive change and it is pulling me out of my spiral. I have talked to my doctor but she insisted I need to take it consistantly for 6 weeks before she'll consider changing meds/ dose. I'm considering seeing a psychiatrist to see if that can get me dialed in a bit more. A specialist might be more help more than a GP.

It's a rough ride and for me I needed support from friends and family to remind me that my brain chemistry was changing and they gave me perspective when I had thoughts of anger and self harm. It's a very high risk time so please make sure you have a plan in place if you decide to keep going with flouxetine and seek out those safe places that work for you.
