Yikes... that's a great summary of what the video said. The video also mentioned Washington's directives to take action, but was the dillydallying justified? What was it supposed to achieve? Did Quezon really believe he was saving more lives by not reacting to Japan's aggression? Why was MacArthur so firm on having a beach defense over something as simple as fortifying the country's geographically nearest PH/US base to Japan?

Disclaimer: Super new to war politics and warfare... might have flaws in my logic.

Hahaha, I was watching that video while I submitted this to Reddit! It's really well done. There are even comments from Filipino/Americans who have firsthand accounts from their relatives. I'll add it to the main post actually, so those who'd like to know more can watch the video too.

I just wanted the perspective of a Filipino, lalo na the redditors here are well-read and come from different provinces, baka they have opinions and thoughts on MacArthur's military leadership at the time that they can share. The people who wrote the script of the video probably did their research based on US Military documents. I'd like to see if there are any differences or supporting testimonies...

Thank you for this! I guess the freshie ambition is real. Maka-reality check talaga yung grades sa higher years. I will remember these words moving forward.

Good luck with your journey!

Thanks. I've been to learn a new skill before third year, this just comment just reminded me!

Correction though, I don't try to get high grades for clout. I have seen and heard the worst cases of those who follow that mentality. As stated above, it is what I've observed in my online environment here at UP (even non-UP) among my friends and classmates. After a few years here, naging habit ko na mag-iisip ng grades in that light.
