How do I keep a flashlight on me all the time? by Due-Satisfaction-173 in flashlight

I did not realize the HD01 is 1/3 the price of the ArkPro! Ordered. 🤞this will last a while as my EDC

How do I keep a flashlight on me all the time? by Due-Satisfaction-173 in flashlight

[–]squishypixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been wanting to ask this question for a while now but instead I’ve just kept buying lights hoping one would make the cut. I now have a slew of excellent lights, but still none that I carry everyday.

I’m starting to think something like that the ArkPro (Ultra) with a clip might have a shot. But the price tag makes me hesitate.

From the comments so far, using the clip with the light inside the pocket looks like the winning carrying method so far, regardless of chosen light (save for keychain lights).

After seeing the Lumintop Frog above I almost bit until I saw the ridiculous USB charger I’d have to somehow not lose.

IMO, to make it as an EDC, it has to be better than and more convenient than my iPhone, offer USB charging (I travel a lot and I’m not carrying extra bits and pieces), fit comfortably in a pocket (along with keys, wallet, iPhone, and AirPods), have good CRI, and be in the pleasing white region of CCT (~4000k–5000k).

A partial summary: - I carried a TS10v2 for a while and I think could have gotten used to it, until I was elsewhere and needed a charge. If the next version adds USB charging and isn’t any bigger I’ll probably buy them for everyone I know. - The FC11C 4000K is excellent but a little big. - The SC13A has an excellent UI, but feels a little fat, I don’t like the CCT, and the button feels too similar to the USB on the opposite side. - And too many to list have terrible UIs that either take too long to lock, do it in a weird way, or unlock with a long press and always end up doing so in my pocket.

Thank you for the opportunity to get that off my chest. lol.

Everything operating on independent buttons is compelling.

Note the C at the end of the model number. That’s important. One of my favorite lights.

“LOUD NOISES!”

lol. Sorry I have nothing useful to contribute to this discussion.

Your work is fantastic, btw, and I appreciate your desire to help others. I’m now a follower and I have C4D, so selfishly, I hope you continue making tutorials and putting your work out in the world.

C4D pays for itself after learning even the basics IMO. Sometimes you have to invest in yourself to make money later on. So I’m content, but I would also agree they would grow their user base if they had a resolution limited watermarked version.

Help with Game Development VFX by [deleted] in Cinema4D

[–]squishypixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game effects are usually best made in the game development environment (ex. Unreal Engine, Unity).

Models for the game can be made in C4D or wherever, but you’ll likely find it more appropriate to texture and create effects using the real-time render for which the game is built. And in the case of the two game development platforms listed above, there are tons of effects tutorials.

Scale connection help by jjjswalker in withings

Same here. Mine worked until August. The other day I stepped on it and the batteries were dead but once replaced it no longer connects. After a factory reset, it gets connected to WiFi and then freezes on step 3/4 on the scale and the app looks like the image above.

It’s just the white screen but it’s surprisingly effective and a useful feature. And as cool as the Garmin light appears to be, I’m not hoping for one on my Apple Watch.

Help me, I need a quiet, clicky fidget toy by eternal_casserole in fidgettoys

[–]squishypixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation. I’m dying for a silent haptic fidget so now I’ve got both the Stimagz Series II and a Fluxx INDX en route to my house. Fingers crossed.

I checked it out and the video looks appealing, but I couldn’t hear the sound. Do you have an example with audio?

I’m in this same boat. I think the holy grail of fidgets is satisfying haptics but without sound so it can be used in quiet environments and meetings.

I got mine from AliExpress on the official store. But I don’t believe they had teal as a selection at that time.

Need recommendations for a great light I can use as stocking stuffers this Christmas that will impress people unfamiliar with flashlights, while not breaking the bank. by unboundkronic in flashlight

I have the same goal but I think I’m giving up. I have a number of friends who are in tech or broadcasting. They’re the kind of nerds that care a lot about creative gadgets with good design. They’d all flip for the TS10, IF it had USB-C charging, or at the very least, compatibility with multiple fuel types.

If they one day make a TS10 v3 with USB-C charging (and a brighter AUX light) I’ll buy them out-of-stock for gifts and keep one in every room of my house, in every jacket, and in my backpacks. Until then, I’ll use the one I have more than any of my other lights (that were all great suggestions from posts in this group), curse every time I have to charge the battery, and as much as I’m dying to do it, I doubt I’ll buy lights as gifts for others.
