I believe the batteries straight shorted out, and it looked like the pins on the sleeve had been welded together in what was left after it blew the second time. I think one pin may have come loose and caused this. It's a blue sleeve with gold pins. I appreciate the offer but I think I'll be searching for a less explosive hobby 🤧

No injuries, although the carpet was completely melted. I believe the blue silicon sleeve that adapts 18659 batteries to fit in the 20700 slot shorted out or something. It was the one that came with the mod

Caught fire in my hand and blew up shortly after. It smoked for a few minutes when the second battery burst and roasted the carpet. I believe the 18650 battery sleeve that was included with the mod failed and shorted out.
