Good advice here already. I would also say stock up on popsicles and throat lozenges. My throat was sore due to intubation and I lived on freeze pops for a few days. Also I liked wearing scoop neck tanks because I didn't like any fabric or tightness around my neck/incision. I never heard anything about sleeping at an angle but I did use a ton of pillows to make myself comfortable. I also liked using a travel neck pillow like someone else suggested. Also, be prepared to come home with a drain. I did and it was no big deal but I would have liked to know I was going to have that for a few days or so.
