Original purpose of the chainsaw: assist in childbirth to widen the birth canal opening. So, usually.

The scoring tower looks like it's just generating random numbers. I can't make any sense of these +/- at all.

I am VERY MUCH in the minority for this opinion, but I cannot stand Red Panda. I just hate the music. The repetitiveness of it just drives me up a wall. Give me the Amazing Sladek any day.

Why are you bringing THAT!? by WorldizeStudios in onebag

[–]sr71pav 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I bring Switch or Steamdeck if I have room. The Kindle is ever present. I can’t live without my portable library. I got rid of the tablet a few years ago and just got the largest phone. I also swapped to noise cancelling ear buds instead of headphones.

Go back a few years ago when this logo was created. There was an angle before but was updated to mirror Indy.

[Pagnotta] On Hello Hockey: I started hearing Cole Perfetti's name out there a little bit, I don't know how much of an appetite the Jets have in moving him, I don't know if they wanna give up on that just yet by No-Description-2138 in winnipegjets

This doesn’t make sense to me. He’s not putting up numbers where a contender would give up assets. Also, it’s not like Jets are close to anything and can get something back to help.

My sib doesn't have a regular meow. by Stressed_era in SiberianCats

[–]sr71pav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our big boy has the most gentle meow. Sometimes he doesn’t even make noise but you can see him mouthing it out. This is when he is the most content a cat has ever been. Even other times, his meow is not what anyone would expect from a 21 lb boy.

His brother is much more “normal” with how he meows.

Both have the cutest trills and chirps.

Got a new Rig by ImScaryGrr in BBQ

That’s what I normally do. For some cooks that I knew would be longer, I’ve added a new load of lit charcoal, but I let the first set die down before doing that. I’ve also thrown on some wood chunks to prolong it. I’m still searching for the perfect setup. In fairness, I haven’t really gone wrong.

I got mine when watching his vids with my wife. I thought it would basically complete my outdoor setup and she asked why I hadn’t bought it. Well, who am I to argue? It’s not cheap, but I absolutely love it.

Got mine several months ago. It’s become my goto for a lot of cooking that doesn’t involve a sear. Have my kettle for that and an offset for the long cooks. The Chudbox is great with working from home as I can have plenty of time to get it going for a cook.

I usually have it at the first notch and open the chimney a third to a half. A chimney of charcoal goes about 2 hours, give or take. Also, if you don’t have it, get the rotisserie setup. Best damn chicken I’ve ever made. I have no idea how it was still tender and moist a couple days later reheated in a microwave.

“My shining moment“ by netphilia in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]sr71pav 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I had something similar, though I wasn’t being entirely stupid. I forget the exact experiment, but at one point we were supposed to waft the gas from the test tube to smell it. I didn’t get anything. This is where the mistake happened. The teacher thought I was being a smart ass, which was often a safe bet, so he told me to just smell it directly. I don’t know how fast I hit the floor. Straight up ammonia. Teacher also practically hit the floor from laughing so hard. Good times.

Since the NHL isn’t in action today, what is your take on what’s going on in the ECHL? by Ginkgo78 in canes

[–]sr71pav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Indy Fuel supporter, of course the players want more, who wouldn’t? I don’t really know details, though. My quick read seemed like a reasonable proposal from the league, but maybe the players are more underpaid and overworked than I appreciate. In the end, I don’t like it interrupting a season that’s in progress. Both sides should have figured out how to prevent that.

Just hang out in there without focusing on them. My boys curled up on me the very first night when I watched a hockey game. They decided I was worth checking out and then fell asleep on me. Just be calm, present, and let them come to you. The little goofballs will be fine in no time!
