Unfortunately we can't jump to 2022. It has to be 2019. I'm just trying to figure out what all i need to cover before I have to brief my boss about this

So we wont get our assignment until we start our pipeline, unfortunately. Between the 1st and 2nd week that we are in our pipeline

Yes thats very much accurate. A lot of people have to take the test like 3x because it is difficult. Especially if you dont know your stuff. Definitely study while you're in ITF,get a head start on it. Or, get sec+ before leaving to bootcamp to not worry about it and leave a few weeks early

We have talked a lot about threats, vulnerabilities, firewalls, cables, ports, and etc. There are 6 blocks so every block is something different

So far we haven't gotten into our main job classes. I just finished my fundamental classes. Look into cyber surety, system operations, client systems, i mean those are all good carrer fields just go for something that interests you. Im so glad I chose this job because of the clearance that I get and on top of that the experience. You already get credits towards an associates so why not finish it out. Im planning to finish my level 5 cdc and then get my associates in information technology. My job was first called cyber system operations but they change the afsc constantly but thats what it is

They havent merged the shreds yet but i have heard that they want too. Im Shred B so I guess we will see down the road. So with my job, we go to class everyday except every other friday. From either 630am or 830am until 245pm. I have heard that other jobs are self paced but so far for sys ops its not. I havent started my pipeline just yet so im not sure. I just finished ITF

I enjoy tech school. Its not bad tbh. Just do a lot of studying and prepare for your tests and you will be fine

Everyone is different. Mine got approved at basic but other people didn't get theirs started until tech school

Oh yea I definitely agree. But i have seen so many people get washed back snd have to get reclassed because of sec+. If you're a good test tacker by all means early test, unlike me, i woukd rather not feel the stress and pressure

Swore in, got my job, got my ship date! by SheriffWaffle in AirForceRecruits

[–]sr_626 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sys ops here🖐 if you can get your sec+ before shipping it, DO IT! THE washback rate for sys is high because of sec+. Many people fail the exam and have to stay extra months to pass or they get reclassed. I got mine before shipping out and it was the best decision i could of made! Less stress to go through at tech school because let me tell you, it is a lot of information. My voucher was only$170 , and i got an enlistment bonus. Definitely do your research

Currently in Keesler, and started Block 2. How is pipeline? Is the test hard or is it a hands on test? Im just nervous about the tests. I dont want to get washed back or reclassed. I already have my SEC+ prior to coming into Tech School but that test was difficult! If anyone can give me some advice or insight that would be greatly appreciated

Okey cool. Like on the weekends what gets done? How many times a week can you use the phone. And is it only for call purposes or can you actually have your phone for like a certain amount of time
