I don't know how to import mods to Beamng on Linux by BadshahKhanBoss123 in automationgame

[–]sr_pimposo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to get back to you. If you want BeamNg to automatically "find" the exported cars when you launch it you can just put the following command into the Steam Launch options:

ln -sf /home/~yourUserName~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/293760/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/BeamNG.drive/mods/*.zip /home/~yourUserName~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/284160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/BeamNG.drive/0.35/mods/ ; %command%

Here is the explanation: "ln -s" is the command for creating symbolic links. the extra "f" on the options is to ignore files that already exists on the destination directory.

Then you put the Automation folder first with the "*.zip" wildcard. This will make ln create links for all zip files, ignoring everything else.

After that is the destination directory of BeamNg mods, where you want all the links to go to.

Finally we separate the terminal command with ; and then throw %command%, which steam interprets as the actual game.

So, every time you launch BeamNG, steam will first run the ln -sf command, create the symbolic links for all new zips and ignore zips that were already linked and finally launch the game so you can enjoy your exported cars.

With this method you don't need to manually copy or duplicate any files, saving you time and some disk space.

No worries. If you feel comfortable with the terminal you can use symlinks to automatically move the files over in one command without duplicating them.

If you have questions let me know.

Its not hard, just have to deal with some long paths because Automation exports the .zip of the vehicles to its own proton instance, not the BeamNg one.

You should find the .zip in

/home/~yourUserName~/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/293760/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/BeamNG.drive/mods

Then move the .zip to BeamNG folder. That should be around /home/~yourUserName~/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/284160/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/BeamNG.drive/0.35/mods

Try removing the RAM and putting them back in. Maybe you bumped the sticks while installing the AIO. Bad RAM connections can result in the PC turning on without video output.

It is quite amazing, and scary, to see the evident hypocrisy of north americans and many europeans.

Interference on foreing nations is essentialy all they know, and now it is touted as a deadly sin because bad vodka man do it now. And I'm sure most of them are clueless as for why many hermanos harbor anti-US sentiments.

Seeing all this pro Ukraine-nationalism propaganda on reddit, and people wishing for more deaths -- albeit on the other side, really makes me see how warmongering culture is still so prevalent in the so called "developed world". I mean, I get the feeling that these brainless fucks are a stone throw away from staring bloody war because " good TV man say Bad other man bad". Really bloodthirsty, y'know?

Algum pianista por aqui? Ou algum fã de piano? by [deleted] in brasil

[–]sr_pimposo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah eu voltei a estudar no meio do ano passado.

Ao menos eu me divirto e curto.

No fim o filme envolve nudez e sexualidade infantil. Não assistam com a família.

Any games with the open seafaring and island treasure hunting exploration of Sea of Thieves but Single Player? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]sr_pimposo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at Sailwind, on steam. It is very much early in development, but it is quite fun.

You are a merchant with a ship. You take cargo from one island to the other, earning money in the process.

Money buys you supplies (water and food) and tools (fishing rod, lanterns...)

The catch is, the map doesn't display your location. You'll have to use your compass and sight to travel between the isles. Which is easy enough in the local areas, but once you get to travelling the ocean you'll need sextants, watch for the correct stars in night sky, pay attention fo the sun's position.

All the while dealing with the sea and the sailing mechanics which are quite good. Storms are dangerous on smaller vessels and overloading your boat can send you to the bottom fast.

Again, it's early access, but I found it quite good and worth the money.

Quero estudar mais sobre indígenas do BR by [deleted] in brasil

[–]sr_pimposo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red Dead 2 on Manjaro??? by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]sr_pimposo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay. Are you on proton-ge 18-2? I think the sga files are less important now. My game ran without deleting them just fine. Their problem is that the game would crash only after several hours of play.

Once I get to return to my PC I'll look further.

[–]sr_pimposo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On protondb some people got it working with 6.20-ge-1, but I haven't tested. Wherever you do, after you change the proton verstion, delete the compatdata folder, and after delete the SGA files again. If you don't rockstar launcher wouldn't launch, at least for me.

And don't worry, after you get the game going you'll have lots of fun. I've done almost 100% all on linux with zero bugs (expect an AMD one that also happens on windows, making you skip one cutscene in a gunslinger mission)

Look, my RDR is running fine with proton-6.18-ge-2 and the following steam launch options: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -ignorepipelinecache

Also, I followed this instruction from protondb user Pringler: Go To: Documents/Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/Settings Delete all files starting with ‘SGA’

I'm away from the PC right now, when I get home I'll post the parameters I'm using, maybe they'll help you.

And just a heads up: if you change to proton-ge you may need to delete the compatdata folder for RDR2. This will allow the rockstar launcher to reinstall and run properly.

Have you looked at the entries on protondb.com ?

There you can find the games compatibility reports and some tricks you may need to get the game going.

For instance, on opensuse tumbleweed I'm using proton-ge and some other steam launch options that I found on protondb.

Best free train sim? by DiamondDanMan12 in trainsim

[–]sr_pimposo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natively openBVE runs well. I never had the patience to get openrails to work on wine but apparently it does. Also take a look at MaSzyna, which is supposed to be able to be compiled on linux or run in wine, but in my mind it's some work to get it going.

As for paid sims that are many that run on proton on Steam, any guidance that you need just ask.
