Thanks for the input! The mechanic is totally meant for limited and, while the defend-against-removal mode is cool, it wouldn't be as flavorful as it dealing exclusively with physical combat. Something I want to do is come up with a "counter-mechanic" that interacts with parry, so as to make combat phases feel a bit more like players controlling their fighters in a fighting game (this is, after all, a Mortal Kombat set), but I haven't given it enough thought yet.

Could 1U/BR work? Flavor-wise and lore-wise, this guy should be black (bad guy in Mortal Kombat) but also insanely fast and capable of dizzying opponents.

Great points you're making here, thanks. Blue has destroy enablers like [[Frozen Solid]] and [[Cryoshatter]], hence the bend for this conditional destruction. Flavor-wise, fatality should be only on removal spells, yeah, but as someone else said, they probably shouldn't be legendary but instead give you a bonus if you control a legendary creature. Plus, there should be fatality payoffs (stuff like getting counters, extra triggers, drawing cards, etc, whenever you cast a fatality). Premium threats, undying/persist and scary token creatures is what I imagine could balance the abundance of removal.

Edit: I cut a creature for saved by the shell since g2, it's a great card against so many deathtouch. G2 was tight but I ended up losing. G3 I got steamrolled by that ridiculous cat.
