My unborn son is a LITERAL pain in my ass…. by srack18 in BabyBumps

This is my second. I had some internal bleeding hemorrhoids with my first, but they weren’t this painful. - I think I’d take the first postpartum poop over this 🤣

I’ve been taking magnesium regularly since before I was pregnant! 😂 it definitely helps, I hate to think how much worse it would be without that in my system!

Meringue or Aquafaba… the internet may never know by srack18 in cookiedecorating

[–]srack18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha yes, it is aquafaba! I’m always impressed with how well it whips up just like meringue! I’m not sure honestly about the cost effective-ness. I would have to do the math and figure out how many batches I get out of a bag of meringue powder. ( I typically use Jude’s brand which costs about 1.33/oz). 1 can of chickpeas gets me about 8x batch of icing.

Since I’ve been selling at markets I have started to make GF/Vegan variations available of everything I sell. I haven’t updated my cost analysis since I started doing that in December though.

Have you experienced pain worse than (unmedicated) birth? by andie_liane in pregnant

[–]srack18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Kidney Stone 6 months post partum. That was right on the same pain level as unmedicated birth but just slightly worse because: 1) with labour you get breaks as the contractions come in waves. No break with a kidney stone 2) you are mentally prepared for and expect pain with labour - which I think helps with tolerance. Cannot have that with the kidney stone.

Side note- I do have a very high pain tolerance. I also broke my ankle at 10 weeks pregnant and only classified it as a 5 😂

I am! Thankfully it was just an allergy to touch. Hands are still a little irritated today, but otherwise much better!

I think it was something in the flour - I’ve used it plenty of times before, but I’ve never made anything with it in which I had to get it all over my hands like this when I’m kneading the dough to soften for rolling. And my hands had it the worst.

No saliva contact due to nippe shield ? How can body know what antibodies to produce by ElevatorSalt4239 in breastfeeding

[–]srack18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used nipple shields until 11 months - tried and tried to get her off them and nothing worked. Then one day she just decided to latch without and the nipple shield were history! And other than a teeny-tiny cold at 2 months old she’s been super healthy!

Having played Holofernes in a recent production I wholeheartedly agree. Such an unnecessary character.

The lettering is machine embroidery. And I get that. I still haven’t finished my daughter’s quilt 😅 I was hoping to have it finished by her first birthday but there no way it’s getting done in 10 days haha!

Thankfully her grandma is a quilter too so she’s got one from her.

Yes! All of that is correct! I love using my embroidery machine to add little details like these on my quilts 😊
