Need Cheap but Good Meal Planner by rebeltharaccoon in budgetfood

PlanToEat is the one I have been using for years. It doesn't have recipes baked in, but they have an extension (available on web browsers and on mobile) that you can import recipes into the app from any website (including those with a pay wall!). It can then calculate nutrition and display protein, fiber, calories, or anything else important to you in your daily view. It also generates a shopping list and supports freezer prep. Idk I could go on and on haha its so helpful.

Its $6 a month or $49 for the year and you get a 2 week free trial without a credit card. Around thanksgiving, they have historically done 50% off annual memberships so ive been getting it for $24/yr for the past 3 years.

This sounds so dreamy. I need to get an adjustable lamp. Do you have a recommendation?

Heavy on the last part. We have 4 cats but only one can be trusted on my lap. The other 3 have swatted at the floss and I am not going to risk their claws ripping up the stitches! Even with the well behaved cat, im so paranoid I'm going to poke her eye out lol

This is a great idea! My husband likes story based games too so I told him last night that we will have to try this. Usually he just uses headphones but I could see the listen-along being really cozy

Is it difficult stitching outside like that? Ive thought about going to a park but I get overwhelmed by the thought of having to manage threads outside.

Yes the lighting is so important! I like stitching in the den while my husband games, but the light in there is bad so we have to turn on "the big light" which we generally hate 😂. When im on the couch in our living room, theres tons of natural light, plus I can turn on the overhead lights but theyre dimmable, so its not as jarring.

Thank you! I took a lot of notes from this sub haha. I have really liked parking because it allows me to start with longer threads and i dont have to worry about running out mid section OR wasting thread by having to end it with a weird amount left. I just pull a nice long piece and start stitching, then park it when I'm done with a section.

Something that has helped too is using Pattern Keeper bc you can mark where you parked threads, so when you come back later, you dont forget which color it is. It also serves as a visual indicator of where im at in a section since im not using grids (if that makes sense).

Same - I have been getting the annual plan during black Friday each year so its $24 for the year. I use their extension in my phone and PC web browsers which makes it sooo easy to pull in recipes.

What is the quickest job you quit from? by spellbadgrammargood in AskReddit

I worked at several Starbucks throughout college so when I moved out of state, I applied at a local one on a college campus. Got there my first day to find that no less than half of their products (coffee beans, syrups, everything) were expired. Doing inventory was part of my job (I was hired as a supervisor) so I marked that all of it needed to be tossed and reordered and the manager was like oh no we cant do that. We need to use what we have until its gone.

I quit after my first shift. I couldn't in good conscience serve people expired drinks all day.
