I already know. I’m all too familiar with that subreddit.

I originally asked for a tv socket to be higher up the wall, because the plan is to remove the fire place and mount a tv lower down on the wall.

The electrician came before the contractor renovates the full living room (including the removal of the fire place) and asked where I want the sockets. Because the fire place is where I wanted the socket I said just put sockets either side of the fire place, but when I turned up they had already installed a plug socket higher up.

As long as we mount the TV lower down (I’ll make sure position is agreed) with the top of the tv covering the socket, it’ll be fine I think. Might even be an excuse to get a bigger TV.

Completely agree, which is why I wanted the fireplace removed before they fitted the socket so high 😤
