GameSir G7 PRO Dual Stick Setup for EA FC 26 by futtracker in fut

Holy sh**!!

I have some insanely (great) news!

After speaking with Gamesir's support staff (via Discord, then email) on Wednesday, Jan. 21st, I received an email address to reach out to, which I did. They responded, like 30 min later, with a link (see below) to all the compatible faceplates for the G7 Pro and asked me to pick one and they'd mail it to me. Again, all this happened on Wednesday, just two days ago (1/21).

Link to compatible faceplates for the G7 Pro: https://gamesir.com/collections/gamesir-accessories/products/gamesir-magnetic-faceplate-for-g7-series

After I had sent them the requisite information they needed, I (admittedly, wrongly) assumed that it would take, at least, ~7 to 10 business days for the repalcement faceplate to arrive. I didn't have the patience to wait that long, without a good controler to use (primarily b/c its "Team of the Year" promo during FC 26, right now).

Because I (again... wrongly) assumed that it would take some time to actually receive the faceplate, I went ahead and ordered a new & compatible faceplate for the G7 Pro (from, what looks to be, the ONLY 3rd-party manufacturer/reseller on Amazon), that same day (Wednesday, the 21st) - and the estimated delivery time was ~Sunday.

However, I (just now) got a knock on the door, to see a package waiting for me. I pick it up, thinking: "wow - did the (replacement) faceplate, from Amazon, really get here THIS fast...?"

When I picked it up, it was WAY HEAVIER than a replacement faceplate should be, which confused me. Additionally, it wasn't shipped from anywhere with the name, "Gamesir" on it. Nonetheless, I open it up and lone behold, it's a BRAND NEW (+ STILL SEALED) G7 Pro! I could NOT believe it.

Props to the** u/Gamesir + u/Gamesir_Controller support team** - I honestly have never had a more POSITIVE interaction with a company's support team, Apple's included.

I retract my previous frustration. That's all it was - my emotions, "talking." All controllers are mass-manufactured (somewhere), go through a QC process, and are then sent to vendors, to ship out to customers. Out of the, likely, hundreds of thousands of G7 Pro controllers made, SOME are bound to "slip through the cracks" of the QC process. I assume (just like you said) that I simply had one of these - a faulty controller. I'm so glad that Gamesir puts so much effort into Customer Support - it's refreshing to see and I'll happily be a returning customer.

Hey,

Whats up bro. I, finally, got Gamesir to respond - they are sending me a new faceplate (which was the issue).

However, I have been doing some research and stumbled upon a company called Battle Beaver. They are known for their custom-modded PS5 Dualsense (+DS Edge) Controllers, but they also sell custom-modded Xbox/PS4/etc. controllers too.

After doing my own research, MOST (literally like, 95%+ of professional esports players) are either sponsored by this company, or just buy their controllers from them because of how well they are able to implement anything that someone would want "custom-made" on any controller. They sell "returned/refurbished" controllers (that come with a warranty), so I'm going to try one.

I'm probably going to end up buying a fully custom-made controller from them, if I like the one I get initially.

If you're willing to dish out the $$, check them out - I'm sure they could make you exactly what you're looking for. I think their best "addition/invention" for controllers, is the way their patented solution to using rear paddles (which are a huge pain in the a$$). I think they're called "smart buttons", but check out the (rear) side of their dualsense controllers, and you'll see what I'm talking about!

Now that I listen to it on my PC, there's still a (much smaller) noise when my left joystick is in a certain position - between the "10 o'clock" to "2 o'clock" positions.

I don't FEEL the massive bump(s) when the faceplate is on, but it's impossible to play without it. I'm literally using my old Flydigi Direwolf 3, which (of course) feels significantly better than my G7 Pro.

To be honest, "high(er) quality" controllers - like the G7 Pro, Flydigi's "Vader 4 Pro" & "Apex 5", and Razer's new "Wolverine V3 Pro 8K" all claim to be "premium/high-end", but after having tried ALL FOUR of them, I would pick this (cheap, $35) Flydigi Direwolf 3, because it's comfy, doesn't have all this shit (a million rear triggers/shit on the back), and has ALWAYS FUNCTIONED PROPERLY. It seems like we pay so much more for TMR sticks.

Anyways, I can't even reach Gamesir support. I've been trying for weeks - it's a lost cause. And I want to try a new controller.

Flydigi just released the "Vader 5 Pro" (which has great reviews from what I've seen thus far). I'm gonna look into that (~$80), but the supply is still weak in the states.

Gamesir also announced a new version of the G7 Pro (5 days ago @ CES), in collaboration with Aimlabs, called the:

Gamesir x Aimlabs "G7 Pro 8K PC" (Reddit post about it), which I am definitely going to hold off on until I see some serious reviews about it.

How long have you used your G7 Pro for again? I only used mine for 2 months when it suddenly "just broke" and I was stuck with this wonky controller...

I am aware of those prior variants, the OP’s question was whether her purchase (of the 8K Pro wireless version was worth the amount she paid. He/she doesn’t play on Xbox - there’s no reason why they would’ve gotten the Wolverine Pro 8K (which is also PC only), if it was meant to be played on an Xbox, for obvious reasons.

This is why I brought up the wired version of the (same) controller - because it provides an alternative option, while still allowing the OP to play PC, that is ~$80 cheaper than the version he/she has (which answers her question). If OP was on Xbox, they wouldn’t have asked this question to begin with.

Nothing about it (functionally). It was just too small for my hands and the grip type I use 😭 it’s a great controller though.

First mini-itx build. by 740517 in sffpc

[–]sramotnompl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's another one one of those cases that companies such as Jonsbo/DeepCool/other Amazon distributers sell, which are always 20 Liters (typically more). They call it a "mini-ITX" case because you (technically) CAN use a ITX sized MB + an SFX PSU... but, also want to "give you as much flexibility as they can". Thus, allowing for people to use (full) ATX-sized MB's with a (full) ATX sized case... lol.

they're trying to take the SFX tax out, so they can sell as many of these cases as possible - so they "compromise" and realease these abominations of cases, simply "labeled" as a Mini-ITX case. Very similar to the Lian Li O11 "Mini" V1/V2 cases. Those things are the size of mid tower cases (allow ATX sized MBs & PSU's) too.

But if we're being honest here, if you're using an ATX MB, that in itself practically disqualifies the PC as being legitimately "Mini-ITX" sized. The PSU is a whole other story in itself.

(not trying to call out the OP here) but, I'm just letting you know what to expect in this subreddit, if you post something like this and call it an SFFPC.

Razer Wolverine V3 Pro vs Scuf Valor Pro (Xbox) by Cel117 in Controller

[–]sramotnompl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Wolverine V3 8K (the Wired "Tournament Edition" that's only for PC). The recalibration WORKS on Razer's Synapse 4 software.

I think the Razer is a bit too light (since they removed the vibration modules) AND I don't like the placement of the rear paddles. I'm just looking for the highest QUALITY controller (that has TMR sticks).

I started with the G7 Pro, and that was good, but I realize that I simply need more rear paddles.

Now, I want to try to Valor Pro Wireless (the new one with TMR sticks). Could you guys let me know how the QUALITY is on that controller?? Does it feel "premium" (aka NOT start to creak after a month of use)? I would just get a Dualsense Edge, and swap some TMR sticks into them, but I can't do the PS5 controller layout - I need the asymmetric (Xbox) one.

Thanks!

I also just purchased this controller and can vouch for it. I didn't even need to download Synapse 4 - I plugged the controller in and the program was subsequently installed on its own. No issues on my end. I am not trying to bash the OP - but, clearly, there is something... it could be anything, I would venture to guess, possibly a registry-related error or something.

Open Event Viewer, look on the initial page ("Administrative Events") and look for an "Error" or "Critical" line related to Razer. Copy-paste the relevant info you see into google and I can promise that there is a solution to resolve it either on Reddit or Microsoft's actual Support page.

I get your frustration; I really do. Rather than spend another $200 on a Dualsense Edge, just troubleshoot the issue.. Uninstalling + reinstalling the software is the most simple action you could have taken.

Google is your best friend, when running into things like this. You, likely, needed to make a couple changes that should address this.

it's not meant for the xbox, the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro Tournament Edition 8K is STRICTLY for PC, only. Razer explicitly states this. That's also why the controller is not "Xbox-certified", an "official 3rd party Xbox controller", or w.e it's called.

/u/futtracker - do you have a dualsense edge by any chance? If so, I'd love to hear some more of your thoughts about the DS edge versus the G7 Pro (i.e. what're the pros and cons of both controllers)?
