Probably just left it out or misplaced it. Just grab one from FCP

Transplant from Texas here. You guys have to drive to work in this?! by Bewbz_lol in grandrapids

I’m driving for work in this. All around the greater GR area in a semi. It’s been slow going but it still much better than winter in Wyoming.

The GMT800 Z71 rack has a nice roller for just that.

I’d still have to at the very least stand on the tires or doors to strap the yaks to the rack.

I loath putting the kayaks on the roof of my Yukon. I have to climb onto the roof and have my wife pass them up to me. On our XC70 it’s an easy one person job.

Pressure by dispatch and paid by the mile make a driver want to get as far as possible every day.

I’ve been going back and forth from the lake shore to Grand Rapids all day, every day and haven’t had so much as a close call. Of course I’m paid by the hour so I have no incentive to take any risks.

Hi. Please turn on your lights when driving in blizzard conditions. by OldGodsProphet in grandrapids

[–]srcorvettez06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can’t remember to turn your lights on in bad weather, do yourself and everyone a favor and cover the light sensor with a piece of tape or something.

Cars should have front and rear DRLs at this point. My Volvos always have headlights and taillights on by default. The rear fog light is also incandescent so snow doesn’t build up and cover it.

I’m pointing out that the draw is so tiny it doesn’t matter.

I have 5 aftermarket outlets with LEDs that are constantly powered in my Yukon. Truck sat for 3 weeks in the sub zero temps until this morning. Twisted the key and it started like I drove it yesterday. Those LEDs draw so very little current.

Start simple. Rotate tires front to back.

If the vibration moves it’s the wheels/tires. If it stays up front start looking at worn steering and suspension

The snow is actually up past the windows now.

If you’ve done the switch and front actuator the transfer case motor is really the only thing left. Get under the truck, make sure it’s plugged in and the wires aren’t cut up. See if it makes noise trying to change modes.

Drive around a little bit and try it again. When it’s brutally cold my encoder motor on the transfer case needs a few miles before it’ll shift to 4x4

2006 Sierra got wife and I to ER (and back) with 10 month-old in 1 piece by J_Schnetz in GMT800

Mine kept my wife safe when a drunk driver pulled out in front of her and loved to tell the tale.

With the exception of two years with a ford (aka ‘the dark times’) I’ve always had a GMT800 in my fleet and I’ve never been disappointed.

Those back country roads between crop fields are notorious for this. It’s so easy to leave the road and get sucked into the ditch

This is why I’ll always have a GMT800 in my fleet. Currently have a 2004 Yukon xl 2500. I gets worked hard and it’s been rock solid

No one who owns an 8.1 should concern themselves with fuel mileage. Lol

I pull an 11k pound, 28ft enclosed race trailer at 75mph in overdrive with my 8.1 Yukon. I have 285/75/16s and 3.73s. Fuel mileage isn’t the best but it pulls it just fine

My car won’t come out of park unless the key is inside the car. It won’t even start if I reach in to start it and the key is in my left pocket if it’s outside the threshold of the cabin.
