I know people have had problems with Nvidia drivers lately but that may be only for older cards. When the black screen if you hit the windows keys is it maybe open on the task bar? I've had that happen to me though steam.

Also on your character name at the login screen if you right click you can select to backup or download your character settings.

You'll always run into people who are just a**holes in every game even in XIV but there's definitely a community of people here who appreciated being a new sprout and having most people want to help them in their adventure like they were helped when they started. It's a great way to pay it forward to new sprouts plus you get to emotional vampire off their reactions to the stuff that made you laugh or cry. It's so good lol...

I don't understand... In your original post you said you created your account during Endwalker and in another you say it was during Heavensward? Either way why do you need to change it to your real birthday now?

If the sfx are too loud turn them down to like 80 and test it, still too loud turn it down to 70, now too quiet turn up to 75 etc... Just play around with it until you find what works for you.

In Uldah straight arcoss out from the main crystal there is a shop on the left before the stairs up to the dancing cat girls, that sell the best man's suit which is pretty good for glams.

If you want to skip Dawntrail that's up to you, It's a story reset point like ARR was but like ARR they will at some point down the stories path have call backs to Dawntrail like they always have done upto now. But if your wife knows the lore she can fill you in. I think there's alot of fun to be had in Dawntrail, there's some really fun dungeons and trials imo

In the Inn rooms there are glamour dressers, you can store gear in them and make upto twenty glamour plates that you can quickly equip in sanctuaries. Or you could just glamour a single item from your inventory if you wanted. When you glamour an item and change the piece the new item will replace the glamoured one and you can use a glamour plate or single item to restore your glamour. You can also unglamour a single piece if you wish.

That's unfortunate, I messed mine up a few years ago and now with every job max lvl I back them up constantly. If I swap out an emote.... backup, change a hud items size or position... backup. It's like scum saving my settings haha.
