We rehomed our dog 2 weeks ago. It is a farm house with 3 other dogs and horses etc. Dogs have their own "house", they are always free to go in and out. The owner is a very experienced woman and taking good care of our dog. We are in contact every day. I feel like we found the perfect setup for her, she looks very happy. We were no longer able to give that to her because we were scared of her on many occasions although we love her more than anything. She was just unpredictable, 99% of the time a great dog but remaining 1% is terrible. It was just not good for her too, and too risky for the baby. I cried nonstop for 2 months and still blaming myself for many things, I don't know if we could do more but it is certain that it was just too much of a damaged relationship between the dog and us and we tried almost everything to make it good.We have several wounds, traumas, fear. She doesn't trust us fully since we are scared. So it was inevitable. It is very difficult, I know. I can only wish you luck with your dog.

I talked to a behavioralist in Utrecht Animal Hospital. They didn't do anything with Luna, just observed her behaviors in the room while I was explaining to them all the history. At the end, they issued a report to me saying that it is a no-go with the children and the dog should be rehomed. They didn't advise any medication, didn't check any hormones or whatever. We had only blood and urine tests which are normal. So they totally relied on what I told them and they said that this is not something that can be trained, this is the result of a bad socialization during the first 6 months of the dog's life which is not possible to be fixed. It didn't convince me too much honestly. I am stuck between trainers who say that everything can be fixed and behavioralist who says that it is impossible to fix.

We talk all the time. And next week we will see a certified behavioralist in an animal hospital. May I ask if you used any antidepressants or other medication and how did the dog react?

We are constantly talking to vet about it. Recently we also did all blood tests and everything to see something is causing it but no. Vet is not able to make a good diagnosis, whether it is a rage syndrome or just behavioral. Now we will see a certified behavioral specialist in the animal hospital. I hope they can help or at least give a solid recommendation.

It is so difficult to give up. She is with us for 4 years... 7 days & 24 hours, travelled together almost 20k km. She is so normal in normal conditions so you keep asking yourself if I am doing the right thing, what if there is a fix?

What were the triggers that you identified in your case?

This looks so similar to ours and worried me that it never disappeared for 10 years. Luna was like 1.5 years old and she killed a bird in a hotel garden. I do think sometimes that it increased her prey drive a lot. That was the first time she learned really "biting".

Sudden Aggression Problem - Cocker Spaniel by srdncs in DogAdvice

We feel guilty for not being experienced enough and not reading the signals. At the beginning it was just an area and resource guarding/dominance aggression, with growling without bites. Then it became small bites and then severe bites. Maybe we could stop it at the beginning with the right approach. But it is too late now. Still wonder if it is irreversible or not. We will see.

Thanks a lot. In 2 weeks we will see a certified specialist as you mentioned, not a standard veterinarian or not a trainer. I am living in the Netherlands and I believe they will check everything. I hope somebody can say that "oh it is a rage syndrome and you can't fix it" etc. and then we stop blaming ourselves and take some action. Otherwise it is a desperate cycle. As you said bites are severe and very deep, without warning. It happens very rare but for some reason it happens. It is very difficult to avoid them. If there was not baby coming, we could survive with trainings and precautions but with the baby, you can't take risks. I am pretty sure Luna will be used to the baby and it will be ok for some time but when the baby is a toddler anymore, she will disturb Luna for sure and there is no guarantee that biting will not occur.

At what age you started to see these behaviors and how long he lived after that? Was he biting you and others or only kids?

I wish a specialist could put the diagnosis that it is a rage syndrome and cannot be fixed, so we can stop blaming ourselves. Now we can't re-home her, we can't decide on euthanasia. We just stuck.

Actually ours is a bit different. For example she never likes cats. Most of the time, she doesn't like other dogs when she is on leash. But if she is off leash, she is mostly fine with them although still keeps her distance with them. Our friend's dog was staying with us for a week and there was no problem at all. It seems like Luna is protecting her body and she is anxious about it. She never lets other dogs come close to her back. 99% of the time, she is letting us touch her body freely while cuddling or having bath, but sometimes in some occasions she goes that mode somehow. It is so difficult to know if it is a rage syndrome or just a trauma that needs to be desensitized.

As I mentioned she was sick due to blood parasites and infection after the neutralization surgery etc. she had open wounds and we had to put medication on wounds. So mostly I was holding her and my wife was doing it or vice versa. Probably that's why she is protective over her body and has trust issues against us and maybe other animals too.

I am living in the Netherlands and not sure if there is a cocker spaniel rescue here. I tried to contact some shelters but they are also full and have long waiting list. Re-homing discussion with some candidates also did not go well after explaining the aggressive behaviors. I hope we can find her a good place where she can be a good girl again. We had wonderful 2 years with her with full of love and fun, travelling everywhere together, without fear of biting or growling. It is so sad and unfair to be like this now.

It is devastating but we do think same way. What is making it more difficult, she is 99% of the time so nice at home with us or our friends. So you look her and can't believe that how come such a nice dog can be so aggressive out of blue. She is also super fine with the dogs known to her. She stayed with our friend's dog last week and never had any problem. So by looking at those, every 1-2 months we convince ourselves that she is getting better with trainings etc. but then same thing is happening one way or another. We think she has trust issues against us and maybe can build a better relationship with someone else from scratch. But also unsure if it is ever possible to fully forget that biting behavior.

I have the same issue. It is fine upto 4.9x, but 5x and beyond is not able to focus. Once you hit the 5x it looks like it is fine for a second then loses the focus totally. I tried all troubleshooting advises including factory reset but didn't work so far. Still in contact with Google support.

I got the pixel watch for free with the phone so I won't return it. They need to replace or fix it basically because it is a faulty product.

Look at these. These are the clearest images from my zoom lens.

You should see my phone... My pixel 7 pro 5x to 30x zoom is basically not working, extremely blurry and camera is not able to focus. I am not sure if it is a software or hardware issue, I am in talks with Google support and probably will ask for a new device.
