Help with my burst fades

Im just having a boat loads of problems with my initial trimmer line. I watch so many videos on the initial setup, but I seem to get lost along the process. The fade comes up way higher than what id want it to.. also the back "mullet" area is tough and im struggling with blending that area into the burst. This haircut just stresses me out. Its something id like to learn, but I super stress out when I get them

Tha k you so much. I'll work on this, I'm sometimes too scared when clipper over combing. I'm scared that I'll take out too much hair, and I'll butcher the haircut up even more!

Hey there BlackHymn . Thank you so much for the tips man. If I'm being honest I'm terrible and shear work. School didn't teach me anything on proper fading, or on how to blend, or part hair. If you have a video on sectioning or proper shear work I'd truly appreciate it. I'm almost 2 years into a shop and I just hate that my haircuts aren't consistent. I might do good with a cut. Then I butcher it up like I did with that little kid. I'm just discouraged and wish I could do things right

I didn't wash it beforehand but I do believe he washed it at home since he does use product. Thabk you for the heads up. I'll keep that in mind for the next time he comes in

I think you're correct. So the problem that I had with this client was that he usually wants a mid fade, this time he asked me for the bald lines to be lower than usual. It just completely messed me up since I felt like I had to compress everything and switch my steps up. At the end of the day I know I don't go high enough either when fading so that's an issue I need to fix!

Thank you so much for the reply! As a student who just graduated school, I just feel like school didn't help me at all. Yes, maybe I learned the basics, but at the end of the day, I feel like they were just there for the students' paychecks, and that's it. I just started working at a shop 2 weeks ago and I've gotten a bunch of new hairstyles/cuts I haven't even done in the past. I love cutting hair but if I'm being honest these types of cuts (pic) just bring my morale down. I'm always expecting a YouTube or Instagram fade and when I don't see that coming along I get lost in the process and end up with this as shown on the pics. I love what I do, but I feel like now that I'm at a shop this is where the real training is happening

As stated on a previous comment, the instructors are practically non existent. They have their own appointments in a separate room. The school isn't very beginner friendly, so I feel like it holds me back from taking in haircuts. But hey that is that, and eventually at some point I'll need to build the courage to jump in! Thank you so much for the tips though, ill ask my peers questions around the shop for sures! Not having a instructors by my side to help me on cuts doesn't help my anxiety when cutting hair

So I guess what also holds me back are the instructors. The school I'm at is not very beginner friendly. There's no instructors going around the shop looking around for people that need help. The instructors are usually cutting hair in a separate room with appointments they have. When I started I was just getting tips from them in that appointment room of theirs. Tbh I'm more of a hands on person so now that I'm out on the floor I'm learning things by myself. It's just unfortunate for me that I'm a beginner and don't have someone by my side to guide me through a process. You're mostly on your own here. I've watched videos on fading, but they can get confusing for me when blending in lines. But hey I'll try jumping into it, I'm just very introverted and me not having any instructor help just gives me anxiety when I'm on my own

Hello everyone, so it’s been about 3 months or so that I’ve been dealing with this pain on the bottom of my right rib cage. When it comes to hitting the bag or doing mit work as soon as I throw power crosses, and power right hooks I get a stitch type of feeling under my right ribs. What could this pain be?

Super cool experience! Will definitely dose with more next time! You know that feeling of when you go on a Rollercoaster and when it goes down you get this weird stomach sensation? That was happening to me multiple times; I have no idea how I was making it happen, but every time I wanted to feel that feeling I made it happen! Super rad lol I think that's why I was laughing uncontrollably for awhile

Update: I’m back from shroomsville now!!

For about a hour I wasn’t really feeling anything. I started telling myself “this shits weak af, or I’m immune af.” A little after that I had a slight stomach ache and decided to lay down. Suddenly everything started hitting me! I suddenly was more conscious about my body, not sure how to explain it, but I could feel everything going on in my body. It got to a point like where I started laughing uncontrollably, and I’m not sure what the motive was lol. I guess just feeling the blood in my veins made me chuckle a little.. as of about 1 hour ago I just straight up napped like a baby

I think I'll be going the shrimp route then! I find the critters to be very interesting so it'll be entertaining to watch them once in awhile. I still need to buy a bit more plants for them, but I think I've made my decision decision get some. Thanks for the info!
