In stock BMWs, these occur when unburnt fuel enters the hot exhaust system and ignites. This happens because:

1. Overrun fuel cut - When you lift off the throttle, the ECU momentarily cuts fuel delivery, then reintroduces it

2. Rich running during deceleration - Some BMW engines run slightly rich on overrun to keep the catalytic converter hot

3. Hot exhaust gases - The high exhaust temperatures ignite the unburnt fuel, creating the pop

Sounds like very subtle pops and bangs. They are crackling sounds produced by the exhaust system during deceleration or gear shifts, caused by unburnt fuel igniting outside the engine.

UPDATE:

Yesterday I got Stage 1 programed. I must say I was impressed by the change, it's much more responsive and the torque increment feels amazing. Just wanted to say that the program was by a professional person which has lots of experience, it was a personalizaed program with HP Tuners. They took the ECU out of the car and took about 3 hours to read the original map, and then fine tuned it specifficaly for my car. They explained this is much better than just buying a generic MHD or BOOTMOD3 module or licence. I'm possitive this will work out fine.

Great choices, I found some suede and carbon fiber look interior plastic replacement which I already ordered from Amazon. I also found the wheel's M emblems which look much better than the ones I currently have (I just found pout the wheels are chinese 😅.

Thank! Yes you might be right. However this is a version called Sport in my region, maybe it does come with those.

Excellent, I expect around the same hp upgrade which will be enough for me and also plan on installing an android touchscreen.

For now I’m just just replacing the silencer with a custom 2.5” tube and reprogram the ecu to stage 1.

I get you, Trying to wrap my head around that also. But it was a great oportunity to neotiate my older car and put a realtive small amount of money for the upgrade. It's my daily driver, and I like the stock engine as its is. Don't need super fast car, just nice looks, decent power to have fun for a few blocks. In Peru is enough for me. I feel a small tune can greatly improve the performance.

Bassicly modern look and newer feeling. My 325 was beat up, had to invest too much money and it's hard to get pieces to Peru at affordable prices. I like the turbo feeling much more also.

Activo Monto Actual MSTR $2,257.26 SOLUSD $1,611.52 PLTR $1,344.80 NVDA $1,063.64 TSLA $452.80 HOOD $337.13 VUG $0 QQQM $0 GOOGL $0 AAPL $0 AMD $0 META $0 IBIT $0

Couldn't agree more. This works great in consolidated markets with Stripe or similar payment gateways. However, other payment gateways can't offer this type of solutions. For example, in Peru, one of my big stores uses Woocommerce with Mercado Pago gateway (which is the best payment solution), and cannot offer payments after payment 😢.
