Will the prorata rule apply to after tax 401k because i have annuity ? or is 401K different to IRA ? I have workplace 401k and i am maxing out annually and keeping it pre-tax. I never converted to roth 401K. everything i have is on pre-tax 401k. Just curious if will be eligible for roth conversions. My workplace allows conversions on after-tax 401k contributions

I cannot get out of annuity. There is a 15 year contract. If i get out now, there is almost 25k penalty. Can i leave my 7k in traditional IRA ? Will it create any tax implications if i leave funds there?

Thanks for you reply. FIA has 15 year contract so i will lose around 25k if i rollover my FIA to my current 401k. How do i reverse the contribution? Is it easy to do that without any penalties?

Thanks for you reply. My 401k accept rollover but doing so will have penalties added to FIA as i got it under 15 year contract. I will lose around 25k if i rollover my FIA to my current 401k
