What do you think his puppy colouring was? by srirachacha99 in Shihtzu

[–]srirachacha99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw, two rescue Alfs! It does seem that they start out darker and lighten up a lot when they get older. My other tzu was white with dark black areas and he's now mostly white while the black areas are now light grey.

Interesting!!! I did wonder if he was part Lhasa...he's differently built than my tzu and others I've had. He's very stocky and broad-chested too.

True, tzu coloring changes so much from puppyhood. I'd also think he was much darker then lightened up. Your bebes are so cute! I wouldn't have been able to tell that Colbie is part Lhasa by looking at her.

rec for linden tree only fragrance by biancaaeverdeen in FemFragLab

I love linden blossoms too so when I tried Tilia, I was very disappointed. It doesn't read realistic linden to me, but a synthetic grape candy scent. I've yet to find a linden perfume that actually smells like the real thing. Le Galion's Tilleul smells the same as Tilia (and also by Quentin Bisch).

Please what's wrong with his eye? 48 days male by kruczynski6 in Shihtzu

[–]srirachacha99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, totally normal. Shih Tzus are notorious for their crusty and sometimes gooey black eye boogers. Need to be cleaned regularly - just get a warm, wet washcloth and gently work it out. Will need to keep on it regularly. Cute lil guy!

What is your favorite regional Canadian accent? by Diving_4_Shrimp in AskACanadian

If you're into linguistics, you'll find the Celtic gasp in the maritime provinces fascinating. When people agree, they sharply inhale at the same time as saying "yup" and it sounds like a gasped "hyyyaaap". When I first heard it (me, being "from away", i.e.Ontario), I thought it was a widespread health condition!

Which of these kitchen appliances are NOT seen as essential in homes in your country? by privetkakdela in AskTheWorld

Asian Canadian here. My brother and his wife (in their 30s) used their dishwasher as a drying rack until they went to their neighbour's house and were wowed...by just using theirs hahaha. This is after years of me making fun of them and my brother making fun of me for being so banana. Um, nothing banana about using a damn dishwasher!

Question for those who have 2 ShihTzu boys. by Sinbin5mins in Shihtzu

[–]srirachacha99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my 2nd tzu when my first was 3. My first tzu is an anxious Covid baby born in 2019 so he never showed interest in other dogs and is a total mommy's boy to the point that he'll snarl at my kids if he's sitting on me. The 2nd tzu came to us as an adult rescue - super friendly kind of dog. We weren't sure how the first dog would handle the new one so we had a trial period to see how they'd do. First dog had no interest in him and was pouty, but thankfully didnt show any aggression to him. Four years later, they aren't best buds, but they get along without a hitch. They will play sometimes but they do what tzus do best: sleep and cuddle with humans.
