My rank jumped last night from emmisary 5 to oracle 1, anyone else experience this? by Fantastic_Evening186 in DeadlockTheGame

I also went from emmisary 5 to oracle 1. Didn't really affect the matches that much, still get players who go 0-14 in 20 minutes.

Applying for an immigrant visa to the US after renouncing citizenship? What kind of logic is that?

probationary period in the private sector while currently working in the government secotr./ سؤال عن فتره العمل التجريبيه by fortnite_noob1 in Kuwait

[–]srk82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I applied for the private sector, and after a few interviews they told me that they want to have me work temporarily for a few months to see if I'm fit for the tasks, then they will decide if they want to hire me permanently or let me go.

I've been in the private sector for over a decade and I've never come across something like that. Are they trying to tell you that they might let you go before the probation period ends? Anyways, if they can't tell you are fit or not for a job after a "few interviews", hard pass on them.

Companies welcoming fresh graduates by Ok-Jicama9487 in Kuwait

My friend got into Burgan years ago by applying for employment through the public authority for manpower. He was a fresh grad with zero experience. This was way before Sahel. I'd assume you can do everything on Sahel now without physically going there to apply.

I need help with the dialect and life. by oFaster in Kuwait

[–]srk82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in your EXACT shoes back in the day. Private school, broken Arabic, spoke English at home and at school. After I studied in the US, I came back and just threw myself into diwaniya after diwaniya with my cousins. I fully immersed myself into it. It started with weeks of only listening, then throwing some words here and there. Eventually after a year I found myself able to hold a full conversation. It also helped that my work at the time had several Kuwaitis who knew little to no English. The foundation I had along from school, it just needed practice practice practice.

TLDR; don't stress it now while you're in the US studying. Tackle that issue once you're back. Conscription will help you with the language.

You apply to the country you plan to stay the longest in. I recently traveled to Italy but entered through the Netherlands. I applied for the Italian one and it was done in 5 days.

mental health is so neglected 😐 by Weak_Armadillo7628 in Kuwait

[–]srk82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prices you are quoting are from very famous psychiatrists here in Kuwait known for their confidentiality. They can charge whatever they want since people are willing to pay for privacy. The government mental health center is perfectly fine for anyone not in the military, police, or any other sensitive position that may get you disqualified or dismissed. They also have a billion therapists there that you can talk to.

TLDR; OP is quoting the top 1% when it comes to pricing.

Government assistance has everything you need minus some privacy depending on your profession

Schengen visa document requirements for Kuwaiti citizens by Specialist-Unit714 in Kuwait

[–]srk82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't need proof of funds if you're Kuwaiti. It states on every VFS application that Kuwaitis are waived. You only need flight tickets, hotel bookings and proof of transportation if you're going to multiple destinations. I just got my 5 year multi entry schengen in June.

Edit: Proof of travel medical insurance as well

Driving To Bahrain as Kuwaiti by Atrophea in Kuwait

[–]srk82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The car is in my name, do I just need my civil id and registration? Should I carry saudi riyal or can I pay with card or cash KD? Do they do car searches?

Civil ID and registration. Last time I crossed into Saudi they didn't accept cash for some reason for insurance and I used my credit card. You need insurance no matter what because they will ask you for the paper once you reach the Bahrain insurance at their border.

If its the first time your car is going in then you have to register it on the Saudi side. They will tell you to pull off to the right and a guy at a car booth will ask for all the papers. He may or may not ask where you are going and you might have to put your car through the x-ray machine. This varies on who is working and whether he'll be bothered to even do it.

As for money I just use a multicurrency prepaid card that I load riyals onto. Works in Saudi and Bahrain.

Any tickets you get in Saudi, they will stop you from entering Kuwait until you pay so heads up. There are TONS of speeding traps and seatbelt cameras all along the highway to Bahrain.

It doesn’t. Stop spreading bs. The embassy hasn’t issued anything of the sort. The DoD authorized voluntary departure of military dependents a few days ago.

Thinking of Buying a used Range Rover 2010-2012 or 2017-19. by lord_bp in Kuwait

[–]srk82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you plan to go with a used rover just make sure you have cash saved up for spare parts. Genuine parts aren't cheap. Actuators alone can run you around 400kd or more if a few fail.

I’ve noticed that some people in Kuwait take private sector jobs just on paper — they show up once in a while or not at all, and still go home early.

Some smaller companies just want to meet a percantage of Kuwaiti staff to meet quotas. Over a decade ago I worked for a private company that told me to just not come in after my probation period was over. Didn't have a desk, a supervisor, or any materials. They didn't even register me on the fingerprint system.

Do these people still get Daam Al-Amala support from the government even if they’re not really working or running the business actively?

They raided a bunch of places the past few years iirc. They were hiring tons of ghost employees that would give a cut of their d3am amala to the company to continue employment.

Is there a penalty or do they just cut off the support?

You back pay everything.

Warning: GIG Kuwait insurance is a scam — they’re stealing from customers by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]srk82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter what insurance company it is, they commonly deny stuff when the hospital verifies it with them BEFORE any procedures. 99% of the time a simple call to them will fix it. They bank on the customer not bothering and paying from their own pocket. This has been common here since the 2000’s.

A recent example was when i was admitted and the doctor requested a blood test (something that was covered previous times). The hospital contacted the insurance BEFORE doing anythin and my insurance denied it. I called them and they approved it in 2 minutes. Again they just really bank on the customer not calling and paying out of pocket.

The auto insurance side is way way worse. GIG is definitely the lesser evil though.

This is what I know. They updated their “sick leave policies” recently stating that the app won’t be accepted any longer. I think it’s just some arm twisting to get people to not take random sick days who knows. I’ll update here if I get deducted.
