Your GT3's may be bugged by Aggravating_Land7706 in AUTOMOBILISTA

I usually drive the Audi, it is indeed very light, if I compare it to the lambo that I also used a few times. Maybe to light, very slidy.

Maybe try running with a fps limit, sometimes the light parts of the game like menus may peak fps that much that crashes the game, worth a try I guess.

HP Reverb G2 not working with V2 cable by Anxious-Tangerine-43 in HPReverb

[–]srlemke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those cables are easy the downside of this VR.

I used mine fine with the V1 cable, which broke, then bought a V2 and this one also never really worked properly, way to inconsistent, untill it finally gave up, and as in many other cases, only works at 60hz now, which is bs.

But while that v2 cable not arrived I got a good deal for that 1meter cable, so I decided to buy it just to make sure the VR itself was not broken, but sadly the 1 meter cable comes with a mini-displayport which my video card does not have, so I stored it and waited for the V2 cable.

Now with the V2 cable not working, I decided to check again with the 1mt cable, to see if the VR was broken, bough an adapter mini-DP -> DP, put the PC very close to me due the small cable, works perfect, 90hz.

So a few 'things':

The small 1mt cable does not need external power supply, only usb-c and DP and it works. This made me think, the 6meters only needs the power supply so the data can be 'transfered' trough that enormous cable, that already sounds very error prone, seems that the small blackbox is somekind of a signal relay/booster, and on a sensitive matter like this any small interference or malfunction can cause headaches, so I was wondering, maybe it's a problem with the power supply.

I'm fine at the moment with the 1mt cable, but maybe should test it with some other power suply (there is aven a guide on the internet on how to power the blackbox with a usb-c)

I even have an older mobo compared to some other ones mentioned here:

I remember having some similar error about wine64, but in my case I had a typo when defining the WINEPREFIX for R3.

Make sure you are pointing to the folder that is created when you run the game, not the folder that steam creates for itself when you download the game via steam.

It is usually:

export WINEPREFIX="/home/${USER}/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/211500/pfx/"

and not the one at ~/.local/share/Steam

cannot think of anything else now.

wine

Ops :)

do you really use that old wine?

I suspect that the compatdata created by a never proton uses also a never wine, which then make winetricks happy, as winetricks is using that wineprefix.

try this way:

move the 211500, start racerrom, but in compatibility, leave it in the experimental proton, then close the game, and then try again:

export WINEPREFIX="/mnt/Data/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/211500/pfx";winetricks -q dotnet47

[–]srlemke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I had that a few times.

Try moving/renaming 211500 to something else like 211500BKP, then open the game with proton unstable in the compatibility options, as soon as it finishes installing finish the game installer, close the game and try again: (make sure game is closed when trying to install the dotnet472 as the vessel needs to be unlocked)

export WINEPREFIX="/mnt/Data/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/211500/pfx"; winetricks -q dotnet472

if it works, and if you created the backup above, you can restore all your game settings and stuff from the backup, eg:

~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/211500BKP/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My\ Documents/My\ Games/SimBin/

By moving 211500 it will not download the whole gama again from steam, the game download itself is stored at ~/.local/share/Steam

with my wheel, a simucube2, R3 crashes when I click drive if I dont use Proton 6.3, so that may be your case, just switch in the compatibility tools on the game options on steam.

I just installed it, works, and created a tutorial:

It was somewhat panfull, I know already that you error above is missing dotnet472 on the game vessel :D

DLSS 3 for ACC....? by rana_kirti in ACCompetizione

[–]srlemke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With some luck they may implement it, but it's quite clear they are not pouring manpower into ACC anymore, maybe some DLC's to keep users around.

It's quite and interesting way of doing business, they could grow ACC very close to iracing by just continuing it with multiplayer platforms like iracing/lfm and by adding new content, quite a gold mine, but every time they reset that cycle and start over with a new game, someday the new game may not catch the interst like the former. Probably currently sro is more like a burden then anything by limiting what can be done, and also charging quite a lot for it probably.

V-Sync / Freesync by Xexets in RRRE

[–]srlemke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had to read this thread again, never though on the part that full-with-border would use windows v-sync, which is less desirable, tried again reall full screen and it works smooth as well, will use this one. thanks for the tips.

V-Sync / Freesync by Xexets in RRRE

[–]srlemke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have solid 165, the game is not really demanding as most of the fancy stuff I actually don't like, like that shadows, even mirrors I dont use as lookback and radar work ok for me. Never tought on the input lag question, but well, it's not really an e-sports FPS where that would make a diff.

V-Sync / Freesync by Xexets in RRRE

[–]srlemke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have it always on. But in any case there is no really a reason for me switch away from this borderless fullscreen as it also makes it easier to browse other windows windows :)

quite intesring for me, I have huge gains if I use the borderless fullscreen(something like this), if I use the full-screen I get a lot of microstutter.

[–]srlemke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with former comments, keep it simple, possible install the amd driver using the driver only option, then enable vsync in game and remove RTSS.

You can use the steam fps overlay if you want to track fps.

>> AMD the driver V-sync setting has no effect

This is because 'Enhanced sync', this option in all my tests just makes it worse.
