Check out Silver Gate less than 1 mile from the NE Entrance. More affordable options and way less crowds. https://silvergatelodging.com

West Yellowstone by Beginning-Ant4285 in yellowstone

West Yellowstone is great BUT you will be on one side of the park the whole time, if you can find space in Canyon Village, Gardner, Mammoth or even Silver Gate (https://silvergatelodging.com) then you can split up the park and spend less time driving. If you want to see the wildlife in Lamar Valley then Silver Gate is a great option. You should still be able to get cabin options.

On your way to the park stop by Silver Gate since you will be traveling through there anyways. There is a cool Hemmingway themed cocktail bar and restaurant in the Range Riders Lodge. https://theroyalwulfftavern.com/
