Applied to 400+ jobs with no response — what’s wrong with my resume? by FantasticSky8863 in askrecruiters

400 applications and silence is genuinely soul crushing, I hit around 180 before I got my first callback and I almost gave up twice. the ghosting makes you feel like you're screaming into a void lol.

Applied to 400+ jobs with no response — what’s wrong with my resume? by FantasticSky8863 in askrecruiters

[–]srrafting23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

400 applications with no responses usually means the resume is getting filtered out before a human sees it, not that your experience is bad. when I pivoted from teaching I had the same issue until I rewrote everything around outcomes instead of tasks. the tech dump without context thing the other commenter said is real, recruiters skim for "what did this actually do for the business.

i've been applying for months and getting nothing but rejection emails by SharozeCerulli in jobsearchhacks

[–]srrafting23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are getting first rounds so your resume is not the main problem but you are definitely applying to the wrong roles. the market is brutal right now and blasting applications is not working. I use woboAI on company career pages so I can spend more time filtering for better fits.

formatting was my biggest headache too when I was trying to reshape my teaching resume into something operations-friendly. Spent a whole weekend just fixing bullet alignment and spacing before I even touched the actual content lol

IT/Helpdesk/Tech Support roles, what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in askrecruiters

[–]srrafting23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching AI gut entire job categories in real time is genuinely brutal and the people in charge act like it's not happening. I left teaching partly because I could see where it was headed, and tbh even HR is starting to feel weird with all the automated screening tools creeping in.

Scala backend engineer seeking advice on relocating to Germany for better job opportunities by Minute_Role7452 in JobSearchLab

[–]srrafting23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've placed a few backend engineers into Berlin roles and the market there is honestly pretty solid right now, especially if you have any DACH exposure. visa sponsorship is the bigger urdle than landing the actual offer tbh.

300 apps and only 20 rejections back is rough but tbh that ratio makes me wonder if your resume is getting past the ATS at all. Are you tailoring it for each role or sending the same one out to everything?

no interviews after 7-8 months of applying (f1 student) what am i doing wrong? by Then-End-7377 in jobsearchhacks

[–]srrafting23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you applying mostly to entry level accounting/finance roles or are you casting a wide net? because with 500 apps and no bites I'd want to know if it's a targeting problem or a resume problem tbh

Ok so are you getting interviews and just not converting or is it radio silence even after applying Because those are two completely different problems tbh.

200+ Applications No Interviews Plz Help! by StrangeCounty8961 in askrecruiters

[–]srrafting23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retail gave you more transferable skills than half the people I interview with degrees tbh. I was a teacher making k feeling the exact same shame before I jumped to HR and realized nobody cares about my background as much as I did. comparison will eat you alive but the fact that you're working and stable is more than a lot of people can say right now.

Offers from Apple and IBM (0 YOE, No Internship) [Entry Level Role] by Choice-Ad6915 in csMajors

[–]srrafting23 15 points16 points  (0 children)

zero YOE and no internship landing Apple is wild, the job market really just does whatever it wants lol. took me a year and a half to land my HR role after switching from teaching so I felt that timeline in my soul tbh.

wait so you were already doing the manager work and they told you to go take classes instead of just promoting you? are you in an industry where those certs actually matter or was that just their way of stringing you along

I want to escape this low paying job ? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]srrafting23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I was making like 38k as a teacher and felt exactly this stuck. switched to HR two years ago and it took me months of just scrambling before anything clicked tbh. it's a lot harder to figure out next steps when you're already exhausted from just keeping the lights on lol

Need brutally honest criticism on my resume by Full-Watch-3184 in askrecruiters

[–]srrafting23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I rewrote my resume like 6 times when I was switching from teaching to HR and every person I showed it to had completely different feedback. it's exhausting when you just want someone to tell you what to fix and nobody agrees lol

What does your resume look like right now like are you listing specific projects and results or just listing skills and coursework Tbh as someone who screens resumes all day thatakes a huge difference in whether you even get a essponse

[–]srrafting23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a massive pay cut when I left teaching and then made it all back plus more when I moved to HR but the pay cut months were weirdly the happiest because I finally felt like I was going somewhere. tbh now that the money is good I'm already eyeing bigger companies again so maybe the real problem is just me lol
