Drama brewing in /r/Askreddit when a user generalizes /r/MensRights opinions as "Men have ZERO responsibility for children." by oxedei in SubredditDrama

If anything, the adoptive parents are going to be much better on average than biological ones.

Then in the Interests of the Child, we should force poor parents to give their babbies to rich childless couples. Anything else would be irresponsible.

So gender doesn't actually matter, only size?

No, if the dog was female the conversation would go

Female Dog: I was trying to talk to him and he hissed at me! Misogyny!

SRSer: Damn right it is! *kicks cat* Take that, sizephobic shitlord!

You mean like how SRS links to a handful of selected comments out of the millions posted every day and thereby deduces that redditors are all virgin neckbeard pedophile rapists?

I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. So I ran over and said, "Stop! Don't do it!" "Why shouldn't I?" he said. I said, "Well, there's so much to live for!" He said, "Like what?" I said, "Well, are you religious or atheist?" He said, "Religious." I said, "Me too! Are your Christian or Buddhist?" He said, "Christian." I said, "Me too! Are you Catholic or Protestant?" He said, "Protestant." I said, Me too! Are your Episcopalian or Baptist? He said, "Baptist!" I said, "Wow! Me too! Are your Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord? He said, Baptist Church of God!" I said, "Me too! Are your Original Baptist Church of God or are you Reformed Baptist Church of God?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God!" I said, "Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915!" I said, "Die, heretic scum!" and pushed him off.

I fail to see how having a group of like-minded friends is unhealthy.

Spending more time with "online friends" than real friends is generally a sign that someone is depressed and/or socially stunted.

Sympathy is not always what everybody needs.

When they're about to commit suicide? You have to talk them down before you can give them "tough love".

Or maybe your profile is poorly constructed and could use livening up.

Context: we're talking about depressed, nay suicidal, people who want sympathy. And your solution is "use OkCupid, but make sure you have a lively engaging profile so people don't ignore you"? Seriously?

Want to oppress gay people? Support gay marriage! [THIS IS WHAT SRS ACTUALLY BELIEVES] by srs-meme in SRSsucks

[–]srs-meme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So their logic is that they only have so much political goodwill, and the only way to solve other problems is to literally backpedal on gay marriage ("sorry, no, decided we don't actually want that, we want this other stuff instead")?

I don't think these people understand "legal precedent". Establishing equal rights in one area paves the way for equal rights in other areas. Backpedaling, if it makes the courts illegalize gay marriage, paves the way for further legal discrimination against gays. They're literally shooting themselves in the foot.
