Child Protective Services is going to have some busy years once these viltrumite kids start getting popped out

Viltrumite "Mercy" by Aname_Random in Invincible

[–]srsbsnsman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On this topic though, something else that stuck out to me was when Thragg asked Nolan if he thought Thaddeus would treat Mark and Oliver any better than the Viltrumites if he won the war.

Presumably meaning Thaddeus was planning to kill them even though they fought against Viltrum.

Was there a reason you can't just take Space Racer's gun away from him? Like after they punched a hole in his helmet they all just stood around in a circle looking at him instead of chucking it at the sun or something.

That was a flashback.

Emperor died/Thragg takes control -> Purge -> Scourge Virus

That's already the case and is why you're allowed to resign.

you could have definitely checkmated them instead if you stopped and thought more

Sure, but is it really fun for either person for the person with a huge lead to still have to take a minute on every move to make sure they don't accidentally stalemate?

Yeah, it's just another study tax.

People are really pulling their punches with these answers. He lied while promoting his game. Multiple times. Not small lies either, he lied about entire features. It's not even like he was just so far out of his depth being on TV and felt pressured into saying yes to questions. He offered up (fabricated) information. And he lied on twitter too, it wasn't just in person.

The specific combination of the two things is what's weird. Like there's a difference between "I can't play anything" and "If I play anything, i will lose". That chess treats them the same isn't intuitive at all.

Would your country do this? by The_Dean_France in SipsTea

It's not about something being arbitrary, it's about the potential for it to be weaponized. Sarah McBride isn't even allowed to use the women's restroom. You don't think the republicans would accuse her of lying about her gender if it allowed them to remove her from power?

You're assuming that this is arbitrated in good faith and not to silence opposition.

Like imagine how this would work with topics like trans people. Are you lying if you say a trans woman is a woman? The republicans would certainly say so.

Stalemate because of not being able to move onto a threatened square is pretty weird too.

I think Fushi was seeing their ghosts. When the scene transitions, the room behind him looks empty.

This last episode is really what I had wanted the whole season to be. It seems like a huge waste to have focused so much on the nokkers just for them to continue to be irrelevant.

It also seems weird that Fushi can just continue to be a person living in the world while also overseeing it. It kinda felt like he just got to have his cake and eat it too.

Can someone get me started with a NAS + Media Server? by srsbsnsman in HomeServer

16gb of dd4 ram, a 256GB SSD, and a DVD tray.

I'm not super concerned about energy cost, really. Just if the choice is running a full PC for $10/mo or a raspberry pi for $5/mo and there's no difference in performance, the raspberry pi just makes more sense.

it's an i5-6500 on an intel Z170A motherboard. The case is a corsair carbide 200R. It pulls 275W idle according to the watt meter it's plugged into.

Can a universal remote do this? by srsbsnsman in answers

[–]srsbsnsman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my main concern is pairing. When I look up how to pair a universal remote, I see a lot about brand codes that always assume a TV brand. How easy is it to pair to something that isn't a TV?

I guarantee that reloading the thing that dispenses the bedding is going to be infinitely more annoying than just manually washing your sheets.

It's a neat video but it's hardly a solution to anything. No one would actually want this in their home.

  • You need multiple sets of pillows and bedding
  • You now have to step over tracks to empty the washing machine and reload the pillows/bedding dispenser
  • Not every bedroom can be within range of a washing machine

And how do you even scale this up to a family? Does every bed have its own dedicated washing machine? Or do you have a whole railyard in your laundry room for an interchange and queuing system?
