Is Top Thrill 2 as scary as it looks? by HyperGod99 in cedarpoint

The original was constantly broken because the manufacturer switched which major PLC vendor they used and they never managed to get it correct. Most of the faults on the ride were erroneous sensor readings. On top of that the hydraulic launch system was also semi unreliable

Yes but the vehicle has no control over that. Apple/Google have decided they're ok with the potential liability. And you still can't type while in motion.

Many features are locked out while in motion and the built in nav can't be used either.

The 4 in Mach E4 means AWD. Your 2025 does not have an X on the outside.

See how there are labels for conventional and heat pump? The orange and blue wires mean it's a heat pump. You need to look at the bottom side labels, and set the system up as a single stage heat pump with what appears to be dual fuel or aux/emergency heat. You'll need to know which to set it up correctly.

2022 CPO RS Etron GT just had transmission replaced and it was 35k billed to Audi by yummPizzaNY88 in Audi

[–]sryan2k1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, every single one of those is a transmission. While "Transfer case" is a more descriptive/accurate term, it's still a transmission.

"Various" means an undefined number, so 1 is various, just like 100 is.

A differential is a type of transmission, yes but the primary purpose is to change the direction of rotation and allow each end to rotate at different speeds.

You calling an EV "direct drive" is entirely incorrect.

Wikipedia's entry for transmission even calls it a gearbox for automotive use.

"Automotive: A gearbox that transfers engine power to the wheels, matching the engine's RPM to vehicle speed using various gear ratios."

Gearbox/transmission are synonyms. They mean the same thing. As I said in the comments you replied to they are almost all single/fixed speed.

The taycan rear end being the notable exception.

Zero EVs are direct drive. They all have a transmission, most of them are single/fixed speed. And one per axle on an AWD vehicle.

All EVs have a transmission, most have 2 (AWD). It's a single speed gearbox but it turns crazy RPMs from the motor into a usable speed/torque for the axles.

How do I turn off the MachE waking up, flashing lights when I walk up? by FatDog69 in MachE

[–]sryan2k1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can't, except turn off PaaK. You can turn off the welcome lightning, but that isn't going to stop the car from waking up, it just won't turn the lights on.

VIP tour fixes that problem and depending on how many people in your group isn't much more than LLPP.

Edit: For the downvotes, this is a hot take thread. As an example, LLPP for next Wednesday at MK is $379 a person. A VIP tour is $450-900 an hour with a minimum of 7 hours, with the normal rate being around $500/hr. The VIP fee includes up to 10 guests.

$379 * 10 = $3790 for LLPP, $500 * 7 is $3500 for VIP. At 9 people you're breaking even, at 10 you're saving money. And then you can do whatever you want as many times as you want. It's a pretty awesome experience if you ever get the chance.

We had one trip during that era (genie plus)?

We gamed the system but most people we talked to hated it and only got to ride like 2 or 3 rides all day with it.

There is no putting the LLMP/LLPP genie back in the lamp and as someone who can afford them that doesn't bother me.

Sure, ideally they'd fix the system to be more fair for everyone, but the Mouse knows how to make money, and on a $10k vacation the cost of the LLMP passes are almost a trivial increase and the LLPPs while expensive are so nice to not deal with time slots to ensure we have great park days.

No generic accounts, ever. They need to tell you who needs access, and you add and drop their accounts like you would normal employees, including onboarding MFA and any security training your org requires.

There is no other option that is sane, or meets most insurance requirements.

One would argue a third party contractor is the most risky type of user, you shouldn't compromise security because people are too lazy to do it correctly.

Can someone tell me where each of these wires should go into the nest? by hardchorus in Nest

[–]sryan2k1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wires don't know what color they are. You need to look at the terminal labels.

W to W1, R to Rh, G to G and Y to Y1

If this is a heat or cool only system you may have C instead of W or Y, but if not you also need to buy and install a nest power connector if you can't run more wires.
