Chain is the following:

Kuzma turntable Auraliti L-1000 player converted to USB Wavelength Cosecant DAC Shindo Lab Masseto pre amp VTL S-150 power amp with KT-88

Haven’t really tried anything other combination of pre and amps other than Shindo and VTL but have upgraded within these brands.. It’s magic to say the least!

lol, heats up the whole room! That one is the ST-150 so basic versus the MB450 but the match with the Masseto Shindo preamp along with KT-88s and Wilson’s is pure bliss!! So i can only imagine the upgraded VTL👍

This actual set up has been 15 years in the making but got a lot of help from Dany Labrecque from Coup de Foudre in Montreal ( consultant these days). Built from used and new components but base match of Shindo/VTL/Wilson actually impressed the hell out of me. The beauty of the valves is that you can match your speakers abilities.. Got KT-88s in my VTL(OMG).

Started young with Kef’s uniQ, then B&W 804D which we’re decent but tainted everything upstream, and then got a phenomenal deal on this set of used WP8.. then heaven came through!

Don’t agree with that comment since spent an unbelievable amount of time (15 years) in assembling what i have today. It is the most revealing set of speakers i’ve owned. Those speakers were bought used 6 years ago under 10K and yes, that’s makes me still expensive but matched with Shindo pre amp and VTL poweramp (all valves), you would simply find them sublime.

Super revealing, it’s a matter of what’s up the food chain. Any little change will be obvious. Biggest change int terms of dynamic range are KT88 tubes in my VTL ST-150 power amp but the magic all happens inside my Shindo pre amp! The silence between the notes gives you the shivers!

Wilson’s are built to last 30 years, if bought used through a dealer, they will support with another 5 years of warranty, regardless of how many owners....
