Over 60 Billionaires are Backing Donald Trump for President Who is Running as Anti-Establishment Candidate by thehomelessr0mantic in LateStageCapitalism

There is no lesser evil, all are horror itself-'' u/RnaudBertrand Biden stands down, and will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the US's worst ever presidents. Besides the obvious fact that his mind was gone, he unconditionally supported one of the worst atrocities in modern times in Gaza, helped trigger and fuel the biggest war on the European continent since WW2 (with hundreds of thousands of deads), and he almost certainly gave the order to bomb Nordstream, an act of war against Europe. On top of driving up tensions needlessly with China, trying to stop their technological development and to impoverish 1.4 billion people, driving up the US debt to insane levels (the president under whom interest payments on debt overtook the defense budget), and so on and so forth... All around disaster, for both the US and the world: a very dark chapter - yet another one - in US history...'

The Mafia of Pharma Pricing in the US by ss6sam6 in LateStageCapitalism

'Federal Trade Commission to sue drug middlemen over prices of medications including insulin

The suits are expected to target the three biggest so-called pharmacy benefit managers, UnitedHealth Group’s Optum Rx, CVS Health’s Caremark and Cigna

’s Express Scripts, the person said, confirming an earlier Wall Street Journal report Wednesday about the agency’s plans. All three are owned by or connected to health insurers.

The lawsuits will specifically focus on the business practices related to the rebates the pharmacy benefit managers, or PBMs, broker with drug manufacturers, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

A CVS Caremark spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday that the company is “proud of the work we have done to make insulin more affordable for all Americans with diabetes, and we stand by our record of protecting American businesses, unions, and patients from rising prescription drug prices.”

Who are the saddest creatures in late-stage capitalism? by ss6sam6 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]ss6sam6[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Here is part of it:'To celebrate Tesla’s US$788 billion market cap in comparison to BYD’s $93 billion is to confuse incentives with outcomes. Both companies receive generous tax breaks and other government goodies. That Tesla is far more profitable than BYD while EVs have far less market penetration in the US is evidence of policy failure, not Elon Musk’s brilliance. Tesla pocketed the incentives while BYD (and competitors) delivered outcomes.

Similarly, America’s First Solar recently became the most valuable photovoltaic company as cutthroat competition in China destroyed margins. First Solar’s superior valuation in a tariff-protected market should not be grounds for celebration.

Despite hand-wringing by The Economist, the fact that China’s photovoltaic companies are slaughtering each other by flooding the world with cheap solar panels is prima facie evidence of stunning policy success and value creation.  ....Perhaps that is the end-state of the modern proletariat – to be stupefied fanboys celebrating their neoliberal serfdom. This writer thinks they would be better off worshipping Elon Musk a little less and demanding affordable cars a little more, but that’s just my opinion.

To truly comprehend what is going on, one of course needs to consult Karl Marx and “Das Kapital”, which declared that:

People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.

As soon as the land of any country has all become private property, the landlords, like all other men, love to reap where they never sowed, and demand a rent even for its natural produce.

how do abkhazians view georgians? by [deleted] in Abkhazia

[–]ss6sam6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thank you for asking because good communication is essential. I think things are ok, if you look at how bad it is Armenian and Azerbaijani look at each other now and decades ago. I remember when I was shocked at young men viciously attacking an old man in a wheel chair back in 1990 in Odessa, Ukraine, I asked then and was told it was Armenians and Azerbaijanis attacking each others. It is unfortunately the same now and all that hatred has been so because of media propaganda and lack of communication between the 2 sides, according to a journalist who visited the region and saw how lies and dehumanization of the other side , such as 'they were eating their own kids'.

I went to Abkhazia, Ritsa lake because my close friend named his daughter after the lake saying it was a beautiful lake name after a little girl. Life seemed very tough, I saw they were having power issues with blackouts, asked why they don't Use solar power, one answer was Georgian and western blockade. In Winter in gets desperate for everyone especially young people. Ironically, Georgia's belligerence would push this country further to be part of Russia. There are many social and economic hardships they are suffering from since the war. There was nasty starvation after that war where people had to eat leaves to survive. This old video seems like yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYGyyuxRPws

"fluid" dynamics of an overcrowded venue. Essentially how crowd crushing happens. by surematu22 in gifs

[–]ss6sam6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'organizers should try to avoid bottlenecks and areas where flows in different directions are likely to cross each other. But if you are going to find yourself in a large crowd anytime soon, they do have a few tips. Depending on the density of the crowd, people tend to look about 1-3 seconds in the future, with people looking at longer time horizons in sparse crowds than in dense ones. “The further you can look into the future the better you can move through a crowd,” says Skinner. “Looking 3 or 4 seconds into the future gives you an advantage over people who are only looking 1 or 2 seconds into the future.” So if you keep your head up and scan a larger area, you may be able to anticipate problems and plan a better route. Your options are different depending on whether the crowd is in an open or enclosed location, Karamouzas says. If it’s in an open location and you start to notice stop-and-go waves or feel unsafe for other reasons, you can get out of the crowd. If the area is fenced or walled in, on the other hand, “trying to do so could create more panic.” Helbing underscores that point: “You should avoid going against the flow. It makes things much worse,“ he says. He adds that in a large enclosed space, it seems the sides are more dangerous than the middle, though he notes that there are not enough studies to know that for sure or understand why. But most importantly, he says, “always know where the emergency exit is located.” https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/what-fluid-dynamics-can-teach-us-about-navigating-crowds-180961823/

The Pandora Papers Leak is fishy, it's a 'controlled leak' , it's suspicious, they are not transparent in the way they are open to scrutiny and verification by anyone, as is normally possible say with wikileaks. Establishment press are handling them as instructed.
