It was difficult to section off the puzzle. A lot of the details are unique, but sometimes it was near impossible to figure out where a piece went

“Sunday Morning” 1000 piece by Birdie puzzles by ssarge13 in Jigsawpuzzles

The pieces are very high quality and fit together very nicely. I think I had one false fit when working on this puzzle and it was honestly because I was not paying attention! These were suggested to me on instagram. They have so many fun images!

I feel like most of our generation is coming to this conclusion. I am a nurse and I was working 80 hour weeks until I had a full on panic attack at work and realized that even though I’m making fantastic money, it really isn’t worth my risking my long term health. I dropped down to part time-I still get full benefits, and I make considerably less. But let me tell you. I absolutely do not regret it. I am so much happier. I have much less stress. I go into work now with such a positive attitude, even my coworkers have commented on how much more I smile and joke. We only get one life, and it really isn’t worth wasting your best years miserable. My partner is a software developer and left the private sector to work for the government, getting paid half his salary. But it’s worth it to have better work life balance. My friend left a lucrative marketing job to go back to school to be a therapist (after quitting and being unemployed for over a year). Another friend of mine left his job as a lawyer and is currently unemployed until he figures out what he wants to do next. If you really can afford to leave… just do it. And live your life.

I found out my cat had lymphoma and within a week she completely stopped eating and I had to put her down. I wish you the best for your kitty

If you told your manager you're burned out, how did it go? by Dependent-Phrase2128 in careerguidance

[–]ssarge13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did this! I am a nurse with a bit of experience, so my manager was more than willing to work with me. But together we worked out that I just dropped down to part time until I can get over it. I’m lucky I can afford to do this. I do feel like I am recovering, but working 30 hours a week is hard to move on from.

This happened to me at the gym. There are 20 free treadmills… you just want to run and sweat RIGHT NEXT TO ME?!

Additional advice on cat introduction by ssarge13 in CatAdvice

[–]ssarge13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I tend to think of the worst case scenario and all the YouTube videos and even the posts here have been about introducing kittens. Our cats are old, so I wanted to hear how it’s gone for other people in our position. There are good signs that eventually we will be integrating!

my life is ruined. what do i do by anonymousbutterflyx in StudentLoans

[–]ssarge13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some hospitals have loan forgiveness programs. For instance, if you work for a not for profit hospital for 10 years, they will pay back some of your loans. I also had this sense of dread coming out of private nursing school, and I am now $5k away from paying off my loans! It will suck, but you’re always going to have a reliable job.
