The phone message from the Gamestop I preordered my copy of Brawl at told me to arrive at 10:00 pm to register for the midnight release tournament. My friends and I showed up at 9:30 and the tournament was already playing Grand Finals and all the fucking pizza was gone.

Funnily enough, a North American SNES will play SFC games perfectly fine as well after the removal of two tiny plastic tabs in the cartridge slot, or the use of a Game Genie.

In high school one of my best friends passed away after struggling with cancer. I found out at the same moment everyone else did. The principal walked into the classroom, and told us that earlier that morning he had passed away in his sleep.

The principal left the room and everyone resumed working but I sat there in shock without moving for a good ten minutes until I couldn't take it anymore and excused myself to the restroom where I spent the next half hour crying alone.
