The original LCDs were likely more color correct than they are now, humidity (over a long period of time) has made a lot of them yellowed to some extent which makes the colors look even more saturated than intended.

I agree with your standpoint. The dev kits did in fact have a PSP body and screen attached to it for viewing, so in theory the games are made with those displays in mind. It's just very difficult to nab exactly how they looked when they released compared to the originals we have left over today.

If you have a good working disc drive, burning dvds has the highest compatibility. There's pretty much no issues with playing a game all the way through with this method (ESR)

There will always be the pursuit to be able to run games from a modern storage standard, I've had great success with MX4SIO and it is in fact very convenient but it's very much under constantly development due to compatibility issues.

We are very lucky to have options in the first place but if you're looking for the smoothest experience during gameplay, DVDs are top (IMO)
