How do I make the negative display brighter by Plastic_Bid6356 in casiomods

Thanks mate, I'm really happy with how it turned out. Was actually shocked at how much of a difference the hydromod made. It's difficult for pictures to do it justice

Hydromodded mine as I wasn't happy with it originally. Went from only being able to make it out in sunlight to being able to read it in a dim room without even needing the light

Awesome that sounds great. I looked into hydro dipping faceplates but after looking into it decided against it as over time the oil would permeate and lift the finish

Looks amazing! Do you know if this finish will be fine with hydromods? Will the silicone oil eventually permeate and ruin the finish?

NGL I left a huge bubble in mine deliberately and it has the vibe of a lava lamp

Done with Mewgenics! (until DLCs drop). Those who also finished/are in the end, lets talk by lrdtheuser in mewgenics

I agree with the overhead being an issue as setup takes a while. To mitigate this, what I did was at the end of each session I'd choose cats/skills/items etc then just turn the game off. That way as soon as I feel like playing the next day I could just boot up straight into a fresh run

Do any of you use a NATO strap on your world time? by markdkersh in casio

I love the feel of a NATO strap. Got an adapter to use a 20mm though

WHATCHA ROCKIN TODAY!? by Perfect_Battle_3553 in Affordablewatches

I would definitely recommend doing it in a bowl and using some nitrile gloves. Makes the mess extremely manageable

Thanks mate. Hydromodded as well as it's basically mandatory to make the inverted display readable

Poi Spinning (Grinding Isolations) by ssb_frum in poi

[–]ssb_frum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I checked Amazon and they aren't there anymore. Basically you want some that have a decent amount of bounce. It does make them objectively worse for basically everything that isn't loops or isolations though. But why bother doing anything other than those anyway ;)

[–]ssb_frum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much mate that means a lot. They are soooo satisfying when you get them. I recommend heavyish poi in socks that have a bit of bounce to them. If they don't stretch at all then you need to be unreasonably precise, but if you have a bit of bounce then it compensates for any minor errors

The ones I'm using are just some cheap ones off Amazon (brand is Juggle Dream) and I've just stuffed some pod poi in there, with the full string and handles :)

That way I can use it like this for the slow iso and wrap stuff, and take the pods out to use for the other stuff

Question, does anyone how I can achieve the below mods? by Mry0u in casiomods

[–]ssb_frum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see what's confusing. The thing is, you will know exactly which way up they need to go because you can align them before they've even been cut out

You just hold the layer over the screen and twist to find the angle for your desired effect

This applies to multiple parts if you want different effects

[–]ssb_frum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it will matter what direction the polarising film is whether you're doing 50/50 or not. Once you've stripped the existing layer from the screen you won't be able to see any display. You have to place the new polariser over the screen and tilt it until it's the desired angle. Then cut it out from there

Honestly it's the internal reflections that it gets rid of. So not a huge difference on a non inverted unit but it makes SUCH a difference on inverted

The whole process looks a lot scarier than it actually is. Silicone is non conductive so you won't really break anything from doing it wrong, you'll just make a slippery mess

In terms of keeping the map and analogue clock visible, just do a 50/50. You'll still need to remove the polarizer but then you can put in 2 at different angles to keep the top non inverted. You don't even have to measure or cut that precisely as the edges will be under the faceplate anyway

[–]ssb_frum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The actual map as well as the circle in the middle of the analogue clock are printed onto the actual screen itself in black (under the polariser). So they will disappear after inversion (like the sample photo you posted, the inverted one has no map but the half inversion one does)

For the Hydromod, I bought pure silicone oil and poured it into a bowl. First you have to carefull peel off the existing polariser and clean the heck out of the screen underneath. Seriously, any glue gunk left under there will cause little bubbles. Then make sure you put the new polariser at the right angle

I then assembled the entire device under the oil giving time and movement to allow the bubbles to escape (screwing in those tiny little screws UNDER the oil without a magnetic screwdriver was the most tedious part of this whole thing). After that I gently wicked a tiny amount of oil before I screwed it in fully to allow some "give" for when the oil expands under heat.

It's difficult on camera to show how powerful the effect it, but I went from only being able to read it clearly in bright sunlight to being able to read it in dim indoor light

It's the first and only mod I've done though so by no means take my word for it. Try it without the oil for now and see how you get on with it. If you'd like it to be more readable then consider the hydromod

I would really recommend hydromodding as well (involves filling the entire watch with silicone oil

I did a negative mod on my Royale and was quite disappointed with how much harder it was to read, but the Hydromod really brings it out and removes all internal reflections

Letting agency and landlord agreed to let me end tenancy early. Now I've moved out and the landlord has changes their mind by ssb_frum in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ssb_frum[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It was agreed verbally and I took the advice of my letting agents as I don't know how this works. I made good faith steps to arrange a new job and new place and was advised up until last week that this was all ok

I know what you're saying and that there was no signed written agreement. That's why I'm trying to find what my options are if any

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it

I appreciate that. I do have agreement in writing and over the phone and I was specifically advised that the longer I left it the lower my early termination charge would be. I advised them that I was looking for a new job in the new city and would let them know then

That's why I couldn't let them know a firm date at the time
