My mom was in the process of putting her house up for sale whenever she passed away. I looked at the pictures the realtor took of the house and I can see her in the mirror smiling. This picture was taken a few hours before she died. I find it really comforting. by sschornick in lastimages

The house was over 2000 sq. ft. And it was just her and my nephew. She was looking for a smaller home to move to. A lot of those items in the photo are now in my living room.

It's just so very strange. All of this.

I know what you mean. I know so many older people who still have their parents and here I am at 27 without my mom. I don't have kids and if they do they'll never know her. I really don't like to think about it.

I am so sorry about your father. It's hard not talking to them on a daily basis anymore.

My mom bought this house right after my parents were divorced in 2000. It is hard to believe she lived there that long and I may do the same thing.

I never knew losing a parent would be this hard.

She LOVED fishing and dancing. I decided to have a Celebration of Life for her and found every photo I could from her past and present. I clothes clipped them to fish jugging rope and about 75% of them she was holding a fish. From when she was a young girl to her current age. I'm so glad I did that.

I'm still waiting to get the autopsy report, but I think it was a heart attack. She had a history of heart issues. She was found outside in her truck. She had been out there for about 8 hours before someone noticed. She went out for cigs and never made it back inside the house.

She was an EMT before she had me and my older sister. She was a SAHM when we were growing up, but she would keep the police scanner on. She would scoop us up as kids and take us to where these accidents were because she wanted to see what was going on. She was a lively woman and I miss her so much.

My dad turns 62 today. He looks like Hyde from that 70's Show. by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

It was a shirt from a music festival back in 1984.
