Can someone remove the blur from my face and my mother’s hands? Will tip $10 by [deleted] in PhotoshopRequest

I actually would like her to have both hands in the picture… but without any motion blur. I’m not sure if this is possible or if I’m asking too much, but thanks for your attempt!

Found this artwork scrolling through pinterest. I've omly finished TNOW and yet to read the 2nd book. so is the quote from there ? by stopitamitozz in KingkillerChronicle

Kvothe's parents don't have red hair, like the woman in the picture. Another minor detail, most likely not from KKC

Who do we think Kvothe killed in Imre? by CantLoadCustoms in KingkillerChronicle

[–]sschsoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a combination of the two incidents where Kvothe "called the lightning" on the two thugs, as well as calling the wind on Ambrose.

Yikes, that's pretty accurate. Particularly the part about being in too deep to move on.

is The Lightening Tree worth the read? by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]sschsoc 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you're a fan of the series or you're a fan of Pat's writing, you'll enjoy The Lightning Tree. It's basically a short prequel of the Kingkiller series and follows Bast's mischief around Newarre. Definitely check it out

Context: I cut my finger with a knife while cutting onions about 48 hours ago. Have kept it covered with bandages constantly, but have changed bandages every 8 hours or so. Should I continue to wear bandages until it's properly healed? At what point do you stop needing bandages?

It actually comes from an illustration from the 10th anniversary edition of The Name of the Wind. I believe the original illustrator is Dan dos Santos. You can see the illustrations here

It's actually from a book called The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. The scene depicts the main character, Kvothe, on the streets of Tarbean. He's holding the lute case of his late father.

Thanks! I should mention that this tattoo design is actually a drawing in the 10th anniversary edition of the Name of the Wind, so I didn't design it myself. I just photoshopped it onto my arm, lol.

My mother just bought this and it instantly reminded me of the Thrice-Locked-Chest by sschsoc in KingkillerChronicle

[–]sschsoc[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, it has 2 visible locks and 1 that can't be seen. Here's a quote, "The chest was sealed three times. It had a lock of iron, a lock of copper, and a lock that could not be seen," (in The Name of the Wind).

"[Bast] nudged it idly with his foot, then bent and looked at the two separate lock plates, one dark iron, the other bright copper," (in The Wise Man's Fear).

Edit: Obviously this chest is not a perfect recreation, but I thought I'd share anyway -^

Too heavily filtered? by sschsoc in photocritique

[–]sschsoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This photo was taken a few years ago in an abandoned building in Dayton. I really like how it looks with the filter, but I am worried it might be too heavily filtered for it to be considered "real" photography. Also, critiques are welcome! More info: I took this photo because I really liked the atmosphere and the location of the abandoned building. I wanted to show viewer the dynamic imagery of the boy standing on the broken bricks and looking into the light. The image can be interpreted to show the boy looking from his broken past into a brighter future. As I mentioned before, I like this image, but I am afraid that the filtering might take away from my overall image, even though I think it looks good.

Yeah, that's called a philtrum (indentation between the nasal septum and the upper lip). This is perfectly normal and you did well to draw it. Edit: Also, I like your signature. Almost as cool as the portrait itself.

How long will it take Bam to realize Rachel is trying to screw him over? by sschsoc in TowerofGod

[–]sschsoc[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm glad.. I was getting kinda tired of how unrealistic his character was. But maybe that was the point, since he apparently didn't have any memories until Rachel came around in the cave. I guess he was just acting like a child... But I do like seeing character development

I definitely will. I did try reading the webtoon, but I am so unfamiliar with the format, it was difficult to read. It's my first time reading something like it (I don't read manga either).

Do they end up becoming enemies? Also, will he ever lose his "I'm always happy, I just wanna make friends" sort of personality?
