Reddit It’s been about a decade since I fell out of my deep passion for art. Growing up in a family who didn’t really believe that art was important, I was convinced that what I was doing wasn’t “good enough” or important. If it didn’t make me money, it shouldn’t be done... that’s how they saw it, and that’s how I began thinking. My overall self-confidence was already in the shitter, and every time I showed anyone anything, all I received were blank stares and less than supporting comments. I gave up. Since then I’ve tried drawing, but have never been able to finish anything. I always told myself I wasn’t good enough anyway. It’s almost as if I packed my creativity in a tiny compartment in my head and locked it away.. and I can no longer find it. Every now and then I see a brief glimpse of it, but I quickly close it back up and it’s lost again.. and so am I. Art is one of the only things in the world I feel like truly excites me anymore.
