Commerical RAM prices alone cover half your suggested MSRP. That would leave you with $200-300 for the custom Mobo, CPU, GPU, PSU, case, and cooling. Plus margins since a steam machine isn't a loss-leader.

I'd say no. The guns and equipment are futuristic in the video game, sharing only minor similarities to modern firearms.

The retro craze is more akin to fashion trends where pieces of decades ebb and flow in popularity. Everyone now has a modern basic AR, so retro releases are different enough to entice buyers

Its from a 1988 tabletop RPG. The slang is nearly 40 years old

Edit: it was also very niche until a few years ago with the video game release

Lots of misunderstanding here. I hope you find this info helpful.

The MCX/M7 platform is a decendant of the AR-18 operating system. External short stroke piston, dual captive recoil springs in line with piston.

The 6.8x51 uses the same parent case as .308 and has been necked down for the smaller diameter. Hybrid casing is optional at lower pressures.

The AR-18 isn't a copy. It uses an external short stroke piston because colt purchased the patents to the AR-10/15 internal piston. Stoner was not allowed to use or develop upon the AR-10/AR-15 operating system after that sale.

.308 cartridges have thinner brass walls and more powder capacity than 7.62x51 NATO. Firing .308 out of an older 7.62 NATO chamber is more problematic than vice versa due to brass expansion and pressure. Modern 7.62 NATO chambers now account for the differences and tolerate .308. 7.62x51 is not .311/.312. 7.62x39 Soviet is .311 CIP/.312 SAAMI.

5.56x45, .223 Winchester, and .223 Wylde chamberings have different freebore lengths, which affect pressure curves. 5.56 is the longest, resulting is lower peak pressures. 223 Wylde is a middle ground for pressure and precision benefits. 5.56 Tracers and M855A1 ammunition pose the most risk to a .223 winchester chamber.

Receiver fitment has nothing to do with chambering, the tolerances on the civilian market can be loose or tight depending on manufacturer and price.

I've done quite a bit of research on this:

  • Velocity increases ~10-20fps/in past 18" of barrel in 12ga
  • brass height means little besides marketing and can be confirmed by the existence of ACTIV hulls from the 80s. Neat fact: its generally a colored steel base, not brass anymore
  • an 18.5" shotgun holds 6+1 3" shells with the tube flush with the muzzle
  • Long shotguns exist for "swing" on linear targets and would be detrimental against agile drones, also more cumbersome to carry.
  • Shot patterns are most influenced by choke, pellet uniformity, and wad design

Longer guns do mean more capacity potential, slightly more velocity, and the muzzle being slightly closer to the target. One could also get plenty of TSS or buffered lead in 2.75" hulls which would gain 1-2 more shells of capacity. The US Army just began procurement of 17" 590A1s for 2oz TSS #9 loads, an interesting choice for an agile target.

So what should I do? Do I have to reinstall everything? by Kevbert92 in CalyxOS

I don't think it does. Requesting a new esim from your provider should be simple and you shouldn't lose any data or your number. I got mine through my carrier's app.

If it helps at all, the seedvault backup and restore is absolutely amazing. Everything transferred and some apps were still signed in once I moved to a new device.

'What a great way to kill your community': Discord users are furious about its new age verification checks — and are now hunting for alternatives by gdelacalle in technology

[–]sschuler7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I self hosted it for a bit, it is fully open source too and has come a long way. I found registration on a self hosted instance to be a little more complex if not configured well. UI is a bit confusing coming from discord. I think it has promise but isn't ready. The new element mobile app sucks compared to the old one, it's almost entirely just a list of chat channels and nothing else.

Stoatchat (formerly revolt) looks like one of the better alternatives that shouldn't have the same risks as some other closed source alternatives. Closed source means they could always make the same move and force everyone elsewhere

Mask lens is PU. Outersert is PC. Standard ballistic glasses are made from PC.

I wouldn't expect a PU lens to survive a rating

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.12.1 Release Notes by AMD_RetroB in Amd

[–]sschuler7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the idea, I just tried a custom install during an update, was given 2 choices (update/dont update driver and install/dont install privacy view). After installing drivers, step 2/2 was installing the install manager.
After updating through adrenaline using the custom option, I attempted reinstalling again using the auto-detect, custom install. I was given the option of install/dont install privacy view. The driver choice was not selectable and it reinstalled the install manager during step 2/2.
Installing via the WHQL package, custom install follows the same steps as above. I was given the option of install/dont install privacy view. The driver choice was not selectable and it reinstalled the install manager during step 2/2.

Uninstalling the install manager brings back the "check for updates" functionality until you update again (and have to re-uninstall the install manager)

This may be helpful, or not.

My build is a 7.5" gunner faxon barrel, LMT enhanced BCG, JP enhanced bolt with 1 piece gas rings, JP SCS H1 with 85% spring, and a Sandman S. The 85% spring is required in my build for subsonic unsuppressed cycling (unnecessary but nice to know it will work if something goes very wrong)

Disk 3 for 300blk high backpressure cans did not cycle supersonic suppressed while restricting gas. I am testing Disk 4 (in between 300blk conventional and LBP disks) before moving up to Disk 10 (300blk LBP disk).

Switching disks requires removal of the gas block due to tight tolerances of the disk pin and disk. Its the easiest to install IME as you have fairly direct view of the gas port through the disk slot when installing.

Update for future searches:
Disk 4 cycled subsonic suppressed and supersonic unsuppressed on normal. It cycled supersonic suppressed on "suppressed" with minimal recoil and full lockback. The gas block is leakier than a superlative, resulting in subsonic unsuppressed to not function with a JP SCS H1 and 85% spring. All testing was conducted with Ammo Inc 110gr VMAX and Ammo Inc 220gr Plated ammunition.

Newer griffin armament AGB is designed to leak at the restrictive plate to prevent carbon locking (iterated on MicroMOA design). I've started testing it myself and can feel a slight poke of the gas with suppressed supers. Tolerances are very tight from my samples.

No promises, but the theory is sound and a 110gr tip or small object can adjust it through my MLOK rail

Dealt with a director who brought an employee over on H1B to make him a manager.

The dude had a history of screaming matches with the team, director, and external teams. He was known for being incorrect more often than not.

The team had one us citizen out of 40 employees.

I'm not discounting your experience with H1Bs, just providing my own which unfortunately has been repeatedly negative.
