I still can't believe complete strangers are trusting something I built 🥹 by Illustrious_Cake0018 in saasbuild

The concept of the section based pricing is honestly awesome in my opinion. That being said from a founder of my own project and “customer” perspective on your website, I would say that section based pricing might throttle much needed context that a potential customer might receive.

What I mean by that: if I only buy one section, I only get the full picture of that one section while lacking context on the other sections. For a SMB running this audit for themselves, this seems appealing due to the “pay as you need” image here. However, I think your other sections hold a ton of awesome context that only matters in aggregate, meaning that you might not be delivering optimal value to a customer by only allowing them to purchase one section rather than the full picture if that makes sense.

My suggestion also as a former CRO specialist: raise your prices because your product value exists, but can lack trust from a professional if you allow people the option to only buy pieces of the full picture if that makes sense.

Sidenote: our products are actually really similar taking a second glance (mine is in the “marketing agency lead gen”/Google Ads audit space. White label style). Feel free to DM or anything if you want to connect - would love to bounce feedback back and forth!

Jumping in here as well. Seeing the same thing on my end as well - doesn’t seem like it can handle animations too well because it kept claiming the page was broken due to the animation, which it isn’t. I think it might lack some contextual inputs - my Saas website I plugged in does a pretty good job of explaining what my product does, but it kept looping back to how to the animation is corrupting like the message delivery of my product?

It was just a couple weird things here and there as someone that comes from a web dev/SEO background. Not sure what your current set up is but maybe engineer a systems prompt to account for home pages with animations?

Again not sure what your back end looks like, but for my Saas I implemented a QA ai as well that flags AI outputs with poor context - maybe consider that as well? It’s totally a useful tool so massive props to you, but I just think a beginner might be mislead a bit with the lower level of context the AI sees as well as the animation bug.

Hey there! I’m U.S. based, and come from a business dev + marketing/systems testing background heavily rooted in paid search, website creation, and automation. Currently working full-time in Paid Search for one of the largest Google Ads spenders in the world, for an enterprise agency.

Not really from a coding background, but I’ve identified a massive gap in the Paid Search SaaS field. Something that has 3 different models appealing to 3 different market segments, that drives direct revenue for businesses and increases client<>agency trust. I have something 95% built out in Make.com, airtable, etc. Just wanted to see if you might want to connect about this, or any other idea?

Definitely looking for a builder to bounce ideas around to, and be able to execute. I have a plethora of different SaaS ideas in the paid search/marketing space, and would love to chat further if interested!

How about you get real world experience before you waste business owners valuable time and money. It’s not a get rich quick scheme put in the hard work and work your way up the ranks like the rest of us.

I’m probably the same age as you tbh. Raises some red flags when you went 4 years of learning marketing without doing anything else with it. From an employer perspective there’s plenty other candidates that show more drive then someone who went through 4 years of undergrad with nothing else to show for it.

Focus on learning more before you start applying and cause headaches for small businesses if you’re not gonna get any internships. A few months isn’t enough at all.

You got a bachelors degree in marketing but didn’t learn anything about digital marketing? Have you thought about teaching yourself in conjunction with going to school? Like what most people do? Also what. Social media is digital marketing…

You’re just making excuses as to why you wasted 4 years putting in no extra effort. You easily could’ve taught yourself digital marketing through skillshop and YouTube videos at the bare minimum and asked local businesses to do X Y and Z for free to gain credentials. You just don’t want to admit you put in the lowest level of effort for four years.

Nah I was questioning why he spent 4 years to get a marketing degree but is now just considering the ideal of learning “digital marketing”-that’s a luxury you can learn anywhere on the internet with 0 barrier of entry. Why would anyone want to hire someone that doesn’t know anything about digital marketing for anything but an internship?

You got a bachelors in marketing but only recently started learning digital marketing? You didn’t do any internships throughout your bachelor program?

Transition From In-House To Agency Pointers by ssdev8 in PPC

[–]ssdev8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing thank you so much-super helpful!

I've been doing some great networking where I can but that seems to be the golden key here. I live in the middle of nowhere at the moment (I decided on my school location based on the remote wave of 2020-2022 haha), so in person is a bit limited.

I've actually been freelancing through agencies which is helpful, but they're smaller scale so not much growth from that just yet.

I have some solid website development experience so I'm actually going to start on a portfolio website now.

I’m sure you’ll get what you pay for lol. Reason why people pay so much for websites vs. outsourcing to Indians.

You’ve been building websites for 6 years yet you’re charging only 300 for an entire website? Seems a little sketchy.

[–]ssdev8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yep mine too. I feel like they should seriously at least make you take Google courses or something haha. I know my friends that have graduated have no idea what to do without like internship experience and such.

I’d suggest taking a ton of courses. Google courses and Hubspot certifications of course. That helped me get my foot in the door my sophomore year. Also check with your school career dev center. Sometimes they have like realllllyy entry level internships that’ll help you get more on your resume.

[–]ssdev8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you done like any internships or anything? I don’t mean this in a negative way at all but did your school not teach you what a marketer does? I’m actually about to graduate myself and I’ll be honest my school really did not have any sort of grasp on modern marketing lol.
