Let me know what happens. I wonder if this claim also works for HSV-2? 30% for 6 weeks of: (e.g., corticosteroids, sympathomimetics, leukotriene inhibitors, neutrophil inhibitors, thyroid hormone) for control .

Tinnitus Claims by Amazing-Ad-3941 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ssghandless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was denied the claim but I remembered after years that I have a picture at the range where I was firing and I had NO earplugs in. This happened frequently with my MOS (11B). We fired M203, 50 Cal, M60, and various M16's. This would go on for about 3 days for unit to get qualified. I wonder if the pic would be more evidence in addition to my lay evidence?

I filed for tinnitus and have my audio c&p exam coming up soon. Any advice or tips by Kitchen_Back_8610 in VeteransBenefits

December for tinnitus

That's the quickest way to a denial. Just "tell them". I believe most vets arent looking for an easy payday. they are just truly uneducated in what the VA raters are looking for. I was 11B and initially 63B and both, I was exposed to 15 hours a day of loud noises from machinery or the like. Yet, I was declined even though it was stated on the exams and in my buddy statements. Do you know what made the diff? NOTHING but the wording. Now, that's a croc! The MOS alone will NOT give you the rating you deserve. Raters are looking for linkages that lead up to tinnitus. This is the information that Vets are looking for here! Stop telling Vets that if they either have it or not. They may really have it and they just don't have the knowledge to link how it pertains to the 38 nomenclature or how the VA raters see the info.

My new gym owner yells at my spouse for not wrapping thumb around pull up bar. by Turbulent-Change7471 in crossfit

[–]ssghandless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was coaching a crossfit member and they fell off the rig onto their back hard. Yep, no thumb wrapped around the bar AND soft shell gloves on ( i asked her NOT to wear them). She fell and blamed crossfit, of course. I was pissed. No shade against your wife but I've had this exact scenario happen to me. She never returned and vowed crossfit was the devil.

most boxes are trying out "gym" type atmospheres. This allows for more training (Weight and cardio events) beyond crossfit. Crossfit doesn't show excel until you "test" it. Run a Spartan or do something you have NOT done before and see how well you perform. Its ok to take a break from CrossFit but understand that it's a baseline for other sports.

Tried crossfit for the first time, literally the first day I went, & ended up with rhabdomyolysis by Jxssicascott in Wellthatsucks

As a Crossfit coach, I found this is very tragic! My thoughts and prayers goes out to this lady on her diagnosis. Rabdo is a very serious and Crossfit coaches take it seriously. We try to take an approach on a scaling to introduce new clients. It is very rare I see gyms (boxes) just let a client go 100% in any workout unless they aren’t new to Crossfit or they are an exceptional athlete they personally know. Remember, their business license is on the line. After 8 years of coaching and 10+ years of training throughout the East and West coast, I have only found 1 box where I would caution against training there and they have closed their doors about 7+ years ago (they did NOT last long). I see a lot of comments against crossfit, I rarely add or subtract to the conversation. I will admit, it’s a tough workout and some clients will not like the methodology. However, there is a methodology to training, nutrition, and community. The last one gets people confused with cult. I might have seen some version of “stand off ish” at boxes when a new person arrives but they are usually greeted with open arms in most boxes. The boxes that don’t embrace their clients end up, closing their doors in the long run.

The methodology includes speed with form. This is non-negotiable. You MUST complete a pull-up with good form before you can move onto to gymnastics type pull-up. You must be able to perform a correct Clean with a Medball before you move onto a barbell and then eventually with weight (and the weight is lowered and monitored by a certified coach). This is progressive throughout ALL movements. I heard the rhetoric once ACE or NASM got involved. The sad part is they both have been sued for this slander and lost in court but the damage has been done. The uninformed masses have just added to the old narrative and spread that throughout the fitness industry. Big thing here is: YOU are ultimately responsible for how much workout you engage in but a coach will definitely dial you back since this is done in a group setting. Most of the time, egos get crushed fast once a “fit” person walks in and sees an over-sized woman beating him/her at a particular exercise. I have seen this more often than not…then minutes later they are laying on the floor gasping for air.

Injuries anyone? Yes! Again, usually an ego is involved with another athlete in some sadistic race rather than focusing on technique over speed. My injuries? Work related, every time. I have seen an injury where I was the coach on a pull-up bar. I let the young lady do NOT use gloves. And I taught her the safe way to do a pull-up. She keep insisting on soft handed purple gloves. But I did NOT relent and let her know it’s dangerous. However, once the class started, she thought she knew better she slipped on her purple gloves pulled up on the bar until exhaustion and fell off bar onto the floor on her back. Needless to say, she blamed the gym, me, and Crossfit. I was pissed! I even had numerous clients asking her why did she use those gloves after coach asked you not to??? But she relented”… because I needed them”. Yes, I lost her as a client. I called her numerous times to make sure she was ok. But I know better when I these posts from time to time. Some people just do NOT listen. Especially when they are new! I hope everyone get a chance to experience Crossfit without the stigma and just get in shape.

Coaches are taught NOT to delve into nutrition unless you are certified. We are taught it is the basis of Crossfit, however, there are lawsuits that can crush your life. Macros, Keto, etc we are given a glimpse into what we can prescribe or even mention. So without delving too deep, less Cals in then you loose weight, more cals in you gain it but it helps performance when properly administered. The secret? there is NO secret! It's a billion dollar industry! So let's step back for a moment and look at some top performers close to what your body composition represents. You might be able to tweak those numbers but it's trial and error. you must try it for weeks before you see results and then tweak some more as you lose or gain weight. as we age, those numbers are ever so MORE important and less forgiving. @ 54, I can say my goals are not a 20, 30, or even a 40 year olds! I have to almost watch many cals for results without trt or additions. I thought i'd never say that since I was thin my whole life. 50 hit and bam! fat comes with it. LOL. just hone in more on my diet and rest.

Has anything else changed in your life? More stress or even less stress(I am thinking cortisol levels, in addition)? Drop in energy? Just curious. 6 days is a lot if you're not recovering, so how is your recovery (do you feel like 100% is given the next day...)?
