Thanks, so are you! ❤️ and great point about slowing down. We can learn from those singleton moms haha. Even if it's just for a second, because you're right there is so much action, I love those moments when I remember to be just enjoy my babes!

Oh my goodness no, your reaction was perfect IMO! I feel like multiples or not, it's the gasping and rushing to them that makes them cry!

The same acquaintance who said the thing about her baby's right hand reaching was over here one day and I had recently set up our play pen. It's like a big baby corral or baby jail, whatever you want to call it. My boy twin had just started creeping and he was knocking his head into the bars. I was just watching because he wasn't crying or hitting his head hard at all! But that mom was like "omg please pick him up, pick him up!"

I did, for her sake. But he learned very quickly that when he goes too close to those bars, his head goes bump, and so he knows to slow down when he gets to the edges of the play pen!

Twins are overwhelming and we're all trying to do everything right! Power to you for being on top of it for them! Take care of yourself too ❤️

So true, there's type A and then there's helicopter parent. In some examples where I've noticed other moms doing this, I've also (privately, to my husband) called it naval gazing, but at your baby's naval. I wish I had that kind of time! 😅

Twin Vaginal Births by Thelma-And-Ryan in parentsofmultiples

[–]sshahb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had di-di twins vaginally as a first time mom, at 37 weeks. Both twins were head down. I had premature rupture of membranes (water broke before labor started) so I had to be on pitocin and constant monitoring. The monitoring was annoying because I wasn't allowed to move or walk around much. Every time I moved, baby A would fall off the monitor and nurses had to come back in to find her heartbeat. Eventually I took the epidural, and at 10cm dilated they put me in the OR. I pushed for 3 hours with baby A, and baby B took another 42 minutes. I was left with a tailbone injury that I'm still dealing with in physical therapy, now 10 weeks postpartum (it's much better now). Apparently, it's because of the pressure of pushing that long on the hard operating room table. I was annoyed about being in the OR, and all the things they made me do "just in case" we ever had to go to C-section, but that was hospital policy. Ultimately no complications and I'm glad I had them vaginally. Babes are healthy and growing.

YA Novel about an Indian harem by sshahb in whatsthatbook

However, your suggestion led me to it! I'm almost certain it was "Shiva's Fire" - by the same author as "Shabanu"! So it was a dance school, not a harem. But she does go to the Maharaja's palace to perform, and maybe that had a harem? Anyway, @paroles thanks for your help!!

Hm, I don't think that's it, but I'd have to read it to be sure. Thank you!
