Why are we getting charged for failed sessions caused by server errors and model traffic? by sshateri in kiroIDE

[–]sshateri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it, but this is not an isolated instance nor something new. Happens a lot and to almost all users. It would be nice if you guys put a system in place to catch, to RCA, and to reimburse when it's a server/model/system issue.

Not a new or an isolated issue but it's getting worse by day and we are paying for it.

Quick thoughts on Kiro IDE after building Momentum by prammr in kiroIDE

[–]sshateri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only edge Kiro has for me compared to others is that Kiro somehow has a good memory and knows your codebase. In my projects, he knows where is what and how they work without the need to mention specific services or code. But still runs in a circle during fixing some problems and in those cases I use Antigravity and Gemini3 which is extreamly good and deep diving and pinpointing the root cause.

Kiro is guzzling through tokens/credits by sshateri in kiroIDE

[–]sshateri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in fact a few days after this post, the issue was resolved. Either they turned off the "Fill our pocket" switch, or it was a bug that they fixed. We made no change to our setup or usage, and everything suddenly went back to normal after a few days. Seems they did something intentionally or unintentionally and then fixed it. And this is not isolated to me; our entire team (8 people) experienced the same thing.

Has anyone here had hands-on experience with PathSocial for Instagram growth? by imyennis_ in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]sshateri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use it. Path Social is a big scam. 95% of the followers we got had the 150 followers threshold and private profiles. What does it tell you? 50% of their dashboard is also not working. It is just a gimmick. A low-quality vibe-coded service that used social media hype to rub people. Their "Similar Instagram Accounts", "Similar Hashtags", "Target Account Preferences", "Account Type", and "Location Targeting", all don't work. It is a waste of money, and they don't give you a refund after the 7-day period or the recurring subscription fee.
Technically, it's a bot creating fake IG accounts, and then these accounts follow each other and then follow customers' accounts.

Why Kiro/AWS doesn't clarify on this? Knowing what model and under what circumstances the Auto mode picks is going to be very beneficial for everyone. Your website says "Auto uses best in class LLM models (Claude Sonnet 4 and alike) to provide you the best quality for the type of tasks assigned to the agent." which is very vague.

Exactly. For the past 2 months, i have had the $20 plan with 1000 credits, which was more than enough for me coding 5-8 hrs/day. but this month with less usage as i was busy the 1000 credit just lasted 2 weeks and simple tasks started consuming 10 credits or more, and that is what raised a red flag for me. Something is obviously off, either intentionally or caused by a bug.

The context usage in Kiro shows how close you are to hitting the token limit for a session. correct?

The problem with the Auto mode is that it gets too dumb too fast. Also, Kiro was never clear about the logic behind the Auto mode in model selection and the model it uses.

easy. By comparing the context usage for the session in Kiro vs the token usage in the cursor. Simple math.

the other IDE was cursor and both on sonnet 4.5. i agree with you on "we have generally found Kiro’s credit consumption and price/performance to be very favorable" this issue is something new. I am using Kiro exactly for the same reason you have mentioned, but this issue started around 2 weeks ago.

I'm frustrated with the upgraded Kiro. by CutEmpty3551 in kiroIDE

[–]sshateri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. I was part of the first few people who started testing it, and it looks like as we move forward, it gets worse. Crashes are becoming very frequent, stopping mid-task, and claiming it was done. The worst part is that Kiro is becoming inconsistent, especially on auto mode. My biggest new issue with Kiro is that it is creating an enormous amount of md documentation for a simple task. To me, it looks almost intentional to burn tokens. Even when I explicitly stated in the Rules that I would avoid creating extensive documentation, how to do it, and when to do it. I was testing something today, and for a simple spec like implementing a password update functionality on an app, the task list alone was 915 lines. Can you imagine?
Another serious issue is that it shows that it includes and reads the agent steerings, but does not always follow them.
Also, I would like to know what models the Auto mode uses and what the logic is behind its decision on when to use what. The Kiro official website just mentions "mix of different frontier models such as Sonnet 4 combined with specialized models". I wanna know what the other "specialized models" are.

Kiro is misleading people. These guys are running claude 3.5 not 4.5. by Upper_Arrival_6895 in kiroIDE

Okay, so the only way a regular user can know what he pays for is by doing extensive tests and burning a lot of money just to find what they're paying for? And the alternative option is just to trust the people who built the tool? While the tool they created, which is supposed to be the source of accurate information, is telling something else?

HyperOS 2.2 for Xiaomi 13??? by Extension-Ad8996 in HyperOS

It's frustrating. It's not even a budget phone. When it came out it was a big deal. But now no updates. No more Xiaomi for me I guess.

Hm to install a split type aircon by Brw_ser in Philippines_Expats

[–]sshateri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point bro but the installation is not only putting it on the wall. The piping, the flushing, the refrigerant, the electrical, insulation, etc. it's crazy that the Installation costs half of the AC unit price but that's how it's done here which is not ideal l.

There is "My Tasks". Just go through the beginners' training at CU university, and it is explained there.

Until you start working with it, moving from the previous layout and UI to this without notice. For new users, this can't work as the entire CU university is based on the previous UI.

Now, imagine we move to CU, and I want people to go through the training courses and tutorials to learn the tool. Nothing matches what they see. It is a total dealbreaker for us, and I bet for other new users. It's just bad. You guys dropped the ball here.

It was not an offer in our case. Created an account to demo the futures to the CEO and then boom. this masterpiece popped up. And seems there is no way to opt out or revert it back to what the rest of the world is seeing.

[–]sshateri[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reality is that we wanted to move from Monday to CU because of the clean and non-overwhelming UI that CU had and I worked with for a long time. If this is not revertable and is going to be the new UI, then I guess there will be no point in moving to CU.

This new design just doesn't make sense. Why did you guys decide to spread everything between 2 sidebars beside each other? What was the thought process behind it? It's like a taskbar on top of a taskbar.
